Privacy Policy, Federal Insurance & Overdraft Protection Federal Insurance Guarantee CUSoCal.org FEB 1 Courtesy Pay Information Important to Know About Overdrafts and Overdraft Fees An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough available funds in your account to cover a transaction, but we pay it anyway. We can cover overdrafts in two different ways: • We have standard overdraft practices that come with your account. Credit Union of Southern California (CU SoCal) refers to this as CU SoCal Courtesy Pay. • We also offer overdraft protection plans, such as a link to a Savings Account or a Line of Credit—which is less expensive than our standard overdraft practices. (Please refer to the Schedule of Fees available online at CUSoCal.org.) To learn more, ask us about these plans. This notice explains our standard overdraft practices that we call CU SoCal Courtesy Pay. The below language does not apply to overdrafts that are linked to Savings Accounts or Lines of Credit. What are the standard overdraft practices that come with my account? We do authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions, unless you opt out: • Checks and other transactions made using your Checking or Money Market Account number. • Automatic bill payments, including those from your Savings or Checking Accounts. 562.698.8326 • Toll-free 866 CU SoCal (866.287.6225) We do not authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions unless you ask us to do so: • ATM transactions. • Everyday debit card transactions. We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined. What fees will I be charged if CU SoCal pays my overdraft? Under our standard overdraft practices: • We will charge you a fee of $29 each time we pay an overdraft. • There is no limit on the total fees we can charge you for overdrawing your account. What if I want CU SoCal to authorize and pay overdrafts on my ATM and everyday debit card transactions? If you also want us to authorize and pay overdrafts on ATM and everyday debit card transactions, you may opt in by logging into CU SoCal Home Banking and clicking on “Check Services” and then “Courtesy Pay,” by calling toll-free 866 CU SoCal (866.287.6225), or by completing the form on page 29 and mailing it to P.O.
