2010 - A Year for Milestones
for Sturgis AND Custom Chrome
With the thermometer clearly showing that summer is now upon us, motorcycle rider’s thoughts inevitably turn toward the
granddaddy rally of them all, The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally which is celebrating it’s 70th anniversary in 2010!
2010 also marks over four decades of Custom Chrome being in the v-twin parts and accessories aftermarket business. In fact,
2010 marks an award-winning year for Custom Chrome with the company accepting the prestigious V-Twin Expo Industry
Leader Award at The V-Twin Expo earlier in the year. In addition, CCI has been recognized locally and internationally for it’s
efforts and business practices across various media and trade organizations.
Custom Chrome has grown to become a leading aftermarket parts supplier to dealers around the world. We now have sales
offices in Europe, Japan and most recently South America, along with our headquarters in Morgan Hill, CA. Custom Chrome
covers the U.S. and the world with Road Force representatives visiting dealers and distribution centers making sure orders are
delivered fast.
Custom Chrome has grown from sourcing handlebars from local machinists to owning the quality brands you know like RevTech,
Motor Factory, Santee and Jammer; all producing the best parts in the industry. In fact, our 40th Anniversary edition catalog
boasts over 1200 pages carrying almost every major parts manufacturer in the industry and from around the world.
For us though, Sturgis is several things. Custom Chrome and the employees who attend the rally are there to answer your ques

Sturgis also means bringing together a fantastic collection of vendors to Lazelle St, in the heart of downtown Sturgis. This year,
the Custom Chrome truck and display will be set up along with many of our key parts and accessories vendors on Lazelle St.
between 8th and 9th streets. Brands like Rinehart, Phantom Pad, Wicked Image, K&N, National Cycle, Cycle Sounds, Avon Grips,
and Xtreme Battery Chargers will be displaying their aftermarket parts and accessories for your Harley right next to the Custom
Chrome big rig. It gives everyone attending the 70th Sturgis Rally the chance to see the best the industry has to offer and to
plan their next customizing project for their bike. No matter how large or small, we will have something to fit your budget.

While there is plenty of great riding yet to be done throughout August and the fall, my favorite riding season, we are already
gearing up for a fantastic 2011. Already in development are new brands, fantastic new products and parts that will mark a turn

Functional, comfortable styling cues of the
Biltwell Solo Seat include a narrow profile, a
short, supportive nose, gently sloping sides and
a subtle rear kick to keep you from sliding off
your ride. The pan is stamped from heavy gauge
high-tensile steel and features ribs and indents
for added rigidity and stiffness. The four threaded mounting bosses are welded into position
and the entire seat pan is black electroplated for
beauty and weatherproofing.
The foam inside our upholstered solo seats is
custom-molded, medium-density polyurethane
padding—not a shapeless wedge of open-cell
foam. What’s the difference? Ask your junk that
question after a 150-mile ride!

‘40’s and ‘50’s. Biltwell’s modern replica, provides
a place to store your bike’s legal documents, personal effects and other contraband.
The Biltwell registration tube is easy to use.
Simply loosen one thumb screw, remove the end
cap, slip your documents into the rugged plastic
tube, replace the end cap and bolt the entire
assembly to the license plate on your motorcycle.
The Biltwell registration tube features the aforementioned high-impact plastic tube, machined
aluminum end caps, stamped steel L-brackets and
electroplated hardware.

Hollow Point tip
Like their handlebars, the Biltwell seat bracket
and frame pivot are made of 4130 chromoly. Why
such a rugged material? If you think your seat
bracket doesn’t have to be strong, think again.
Biltwell did, and they couldn’t think of a better
place to put aircraft-grade chromoly steel than
right between your legs. Of course, all welds are
TIG. Beautiful, strong and accurate. It features
two long slots for adjustability. They left the
accompanying pivot bracket unfinished so it
can be welded to the backbone of your frame
without special preparation. An Allen cap bolt
threads into the opposite side of the bracket,
creating an efficient and durable hinge pin.

Triumph guru and faithful Biltwell supporter
Wes White had a great idea: make some stylish
exhaust tips to dress up the look of standard
1-3/4” straight pipes. We agreed with Wes, and
asked him to design a set. The velocity stack on
an old Amal carb inspired Wes’s classic design.
We were so inspired by Wes’s idea, we designed
three tips of our own. All four Biltwell exhaust
tip sets are machined from 6061 T-6 aluminum
and press fit inside any 1-3/4-inch O.D. straight
pipe perfectly. We recommend drilling and screwing the tip to the pipe to complete installation,
but we leave this step to the discretion of the
builder. After CNC machining, each tip set is
sandblasted to a dull neutral finish, then black or
silver anodized for protection and appearance.
After anodizing, we laser etch the Biltwell brand
and model ID into each tip. This laser etching is
hidden inside the exhaust pipe when the tips are
installed. Sold in pairs.

Laser-etched, stainless steel insert fits inside CNC-machined and tumbled
ignition cover. The insert can be rotated 90° so one cover fits on bikes with
horizontal or vertical-oriented mounting holes. The oval is designed to help
you open your favorite pop-top frosty adult beverage. Of course on some
models, pegs are in the way, blah, blah. Look at your bike first if you really
want to use it as a bottle opener. It also bolts up flush on a wall, workbench

Do you love the look of a set of apes, but hate sorting out which cables and
brake line to use. Apparently the folks at Burly Brand had the same issues
and have now eliminated all the trial, error and inventing of bad words. Each
kit is specific to a year range and bar height, including 12”, 14” and 16” apes
and includes extended throttle cables, extended clutch cable, extended brake
line and even wiring harness extensions. Cables and brake line are satin black

Barnett ‘Scorpion™’ Clutch Kits
Billet clutch features over twice as much friction surface area compared to your stock clutch.
Provides a positive engagement and release. The
problem of “finding neutral” is virtually eliminated and shifting through the gears becomes
smooth and precise. Steel spacers on the clutch
pack ends, eliminate wear on the aluminum
surfaces. Clutches incorporate six heavy-duty
coil springs instead of stock diaphragm spring.
In addition, an extra spring set with a different
spring rate is included, which allows the clutch
to be tuned from mild to wild depending on the
usage. Tunability is easy without the removal of
the primary cover. The Barnett friction plates are
compatible with all primary lubricants.
‘Scorpion™’ Clutch Kit features include:
• Heavy-duty snap ring for extra bearing support
• Chromemoly steel hub for strength/durability
• Solid steel thread inserts that resist stripping
• Nine clutch plates with steel spacer at the ends

The Custom Chrome Village
Always an industry leader, Custom Chrome will be
the anchor vendor at the CUSTOM CHROME VILLAGE
at the J&P 8th St Lot. Located between 8th and 9th
Street’s on Lazelle at this year’s 70th Anniversary of the
Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, the Village will feature many
special vendors and a staffed motorcycle service areas
for your convenience.
Custom Chrome will have on display products from
each in-house brand including RevTech, Santee,
Jammer, and MotorFactory as well as select parts and
accessories from the best manufacturers from around
the world, including Paul Yaffe’s new Stretched Bagger
Tank and Rinehart’s True Dual Exhaust.
Also on display will be the two extra special, one-off
custom bikes celebrating the 40th Anniversary of
Custom Chrome, the “Speedway Bagger” built by Kirk
Taylor and Cole Foster’s 70’s inspired Chopper. Custom
Chrome will also have never before seen personal bikes
from the Custom Chrome staff featuring select CCI
parts from the expansive 2010 CCI catalog.
Along with Custom Chrome, a select number of companies will also be on hand to discuss their latest and
answer questions. Companies like Rinehart, Phantom
Pad, Wicked Image, K&N, National Cycle, Cycle Sounds,
Avon Grips and Xtreme Charge will be on Lazelle during
the Rally.
