SAFETY WARNINGS
This symbol is found on all of the SOPs included in this manual,
as well as the product packaging for Mirka abrasives. Specific
requirements for personal protective equipment (PPE) are presented
in many different OSHA standards, published in 29 CFR.
Wear appropriate eye and face protection and ensure that the
selected form of protection is appropriate to the work being
performed and properly fits each worker exposed to the hazard.
Use gloves specifically designed for the hazards and tasks found
in the workplace. The nature of the hazard and the operation
involved will affect the selection of gloves.
If engineering and work practice controls do not lower employee
exposure to workplace noise to acceptable levels, employees
must wear appropriate hearing protection.
Selecting the right respirator requires an assessment of all the
workplace operations, processes or environments that may
create a respiratory hazard.
Read and follow all instructions contained in Technical Data
Sheets and User Manuals.
The User is responsible for determining whether the Mirka product is fit for a particular purpose
and suitable for the User’s application. The User is also responsible for complying with any
applicable safety and health-related regulations and taking any safety and health-related
precautions when using Mirka products. This includes, but is not limited to: wearing safety
glasses, facemasks, gloves, and protective clothing, if necessary; following instructions and
warning labels; and operating Mirka products safely including at safe operating speeds. By User’s

The Mirka Smart Cart Keeps You Organized
and Saves You Time!
The Mirka Smart Cart is the perfect solution to keep all
your abrasives, tools, and dust extraction in one place as an
integrated, dust-free sanding system.
But there‘s more required than just bringing materials closer
to the work. It‘s equally or more important to be organized.
The Smart Cart provides a movable platform for the MV-912
dust extractor with integrated storage hooks for vacuum
hoses. The system incorporates a locking cabinet for inventory
control and a large, 17-3/4“ x 27“ work surface that is recessed
2“ to hold items in place.
Additional storage is available in the two 15-3/4“ x 12“ x 2-3/4“
drawers. These glide freely on roller bearing slides, and have
recessed handles to prevent catching on cords or clothing.

• Prepare damaged area for paint. Areas are larger than 3” in diameter

abrasive discs and the Mirka® PROS sander
to expose bare metal. Featheredge the paint
inward toward the repair area.
Apply filler in thin layers and spread
smoothly over the entire repair area.
Do not apply material all at once as
this can cause pinholes. To ensure
best adhesion, apply firm pressure
with spreader when applying. Follow
manufacturer’s instructions for proper
mixing ratios and curing times.
Use an MV-912 dust extractor or other dust
collection system when sanding.

the initial cut. After initial shaping, apply
Guide Coat to highlight the repair area. Block
the repair to reveal any low areas. Additional
filler may be required if excessive low spots
remain. Re-apply Guide Coat.
Using Autonet® P180 grit abrasive and
a vacuum block, sand the highlighted
repair area until the surface is uniform.
After the repair has been shaped,
featheredge and refine the straight
line scratches using Autonet® P180
discs with the Mirka® PROS MRP-680CV
sander.

• Refinement of all sanded area transitions
• Prepare entire surface that will receive basecoat and clearcoat

In most cases, application of clearcoat to the
entire panel is the only procedure approved for
a Warranted Repair.
As blending the clearcoat within the panel
requires the thickness of the clearcoat to be
reduced at the edge, it may become visible if
polished too aggressively, or after extended
exposure to weather.

Refine sand scratches using 3000 grit
Abralon® with a 50% overlap pattern (wet).
Sand with 1500 grit (dry) using moderate speed.
The clear should “powder” when sanding. If you can
not produce dust, then it is not dry enough to sand.
Sanding too early risks producing “pills” which will
damage the surface.
Spray the pad and surface with clean
water. If too much is used, it will be evident
by water “slinging” from the pad, and the
abrasive will float over the surface with
reduced cutting action.
Microstar® was designed to remove runs, dust nibs,
excess orange peel or other surface defects in painted
surfaces or gelcoat prior to polishing.

MIRKA WARRANTY POLICY
(EFFECTIVE: February 2, 2015)
Warranty
Mirka Abrasives, Inc. (“Mirka”) warrants that the following Mirka products will be free from defects in material or workmanship under normal
operating conditions from the date of purchase for the time period indicated:
a.
Pneumatic and electric tools (except dust extractors): 2 years *
b.
All other tools and products: 1 year
* By registering a pneumatic or electric tool within 30 days of purchase at www.mirka.com/warranty-registration, Mirka will warrant the
product for an additional one year.
Terms and Conditions
The purchase of any Mirka product will constitute and be deemed to be acceptance of and agreement to the Mirka Warranty Policy (“Policy”)
by the purchaser and/or user (collectively “User”) of any Mirka product.
The Policy shall not apply to:

Normal wear and tear; or

Product failure or damages caused by:
o Subsequent modification of the Mirka product;
o Repairs attempted or made on the Mirka product other than by Mirka;
o Misuse, abuse or neglect;
o Careless or unsafe handling;
o Inadequate or improper maintenance;
o Failure to follow any applicable instructions for the Mirka product; or
o Anything other than defects in material or workmanship.
Mirka’s sole obligation under this Policy shall be, at Mirka’s option, to: (1) repair or replace any Mirka product that is defective in material or
workmanship; or (2) refund the purchase price of the Mirka product that is defective in material or workmanship. Repairs during the warranty
period do not lengthen or renew the original warranty period of the product.
The User is responsible for determining whether the Mirka product is fit for a particular purpose and suitable for the User’s application. The
User is also responsible for complying with all applicable operating instructions and any applicable safety and health-related regulations and
for taking any safety and health-related precautions when using Mirka products. This includes, but is not limited to: wearing safety glasses,
facemasks, gloves, and protective clothing, if necessary; following instructions and warning labels; and operating Mirka products safely
including at safe operating speeds. By User’s purchase or use of Mirka products, User acknowledges, represents, and warrants that User will:
(a) comply with the foregoing; and (b) assume all risks in connection with the use of Mirka products.
No agent, representative, employee, distributor or dealer of Mirka is authorized to modify this Policy or to issue any warranty regarding any
Mirka products.
Any civil action against Mirka relating to or arising out of the sale of Mirka products shall be commenced within one (1) year of the date the
cause of action accrued or otherwise the cause of action shall be barred.

EXCEPT FOR THE PROVISIONS OF THIS “WARRANTY,” MIRKA EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL GUARANTEES AND/OR
WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A
PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY ARISING OUT OF A COURSE OF DEALING, CUSTOM OR USAGE OF
TRADE.
Limitation on Liability
MIRKA’S LIABILITY FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE ARISING OUT OF OR RESULTING FROM ANY BREACH OR DEFAULT BY
MIRKA IN CONNECTION WITH THE SALE OF MIRKA PRODUCTS HEREUNDER SHALL NOT EXCEED THE PURCHASE PRICE
THEREOF, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER SUCH LIABILITY ARISES IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING, WITHOUT
LIMITATION, STRICT LIABILITY) OR OTHERWISE.
IN NO EVENT SHALL MIRKA BE LIABLE FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE ARISING FROM THE MIRKA PRODUCT, WHETHER DIRECT,
INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY
ASSERTED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTY, CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE OR STRICT LIABILITY.
Submitting a Warranty Claim
To submit a warranty repair claim, Users must contact their Mirka dealer or Mirka customer support.
Tools returned for warranty repair must be accompanied by a valid purchase receipt or invoice.
