Message from the Director
Dear Friends,
Daylight Savings Time begins Sunday, March 8th and it is “Check Your Batteries Day” also. “Check Your
Batteries Day” is a reminder to check to ensure that you have working batteries in household
appliances like smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors and other electrical items.
Join us for “the wearing of the green” as we host our “Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration” on Tuesday,
March 17th. The celebration will begin with a special performance by the “Irish Step Dancers” from the
Goulding School of Irish Dance at 10:30 AM. We will serve a traditional corned beef and cabbage lunch
at noon and Mayor Lombardi will provide Irish Bread to complement the meal. The musical
entertainment will be provided by “Celebrations” courtesy of Heritage Hills Nursing Center. Be sure to
make your reservations early for this popular celebration.
We will celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph on Thursday, March 19th at noon. Did you know in addition to
the Feast, March 19th is considered to be Father’s Day in Italy? Be sure to wear the color red that
signifies St. Joseph’s Day and join us for this special celebration. Mayor Lombardi will provide
“Zeppoles” for dessert. You must make a reservation for this event.
We are all anxiously awaiting the official arrival of Spring on Friday, March 20th! Join us for a delightful
“Tea Party” and special uplifting performance on Tuesday, March 31st to celebrate the arrival of spring.
Bring your own cup and saucer to enjoy a cup of tea!
Do you or someone you know enjoy attending Cigar Dinners? If so, be sure to join us at our “2nd Annual
Cigar Dinner” fundraiser on Monday, April 13th at Ciara’s Restaurant, Johnston. All proceeds from this
Dinner benefit the Senior Center.
Looking forward to seeing you at the Center!
Warmest personal regards,
Karen Testa Leone
