Women's Aid Organisation (WAO) is happy to be working partners with Chastal Marketing Pte
Ltd once again to raise much needed funds for WAO Anak Angkat programme through the
"Education Fund for \ilAO Anak Angkat Children" campaign.
Chastal Marketing Pte Ltd is the Sole Agent (Asia) of Love-box Copenhagen Condoms. In
conjunction with the Intemational Women's Day in March 2008, Chastal Marketing Pte Ltd had
approachedWAO to donate RMl.00 with every purchase of their Love- Box condoms which
was put up at 50 Watsons and 30 My News stores. The promotion was a successand Chastal
Marketing managedto raise RM10,000.
Seeing the success of this campaign, Chastal Marketing decided to continue their on-going
efforts of rising funds for the WAO Anak Angkat programme through the "Education fund for
WAO Anak Angkat Children" campaign.I.ove-Box will distribute condoms in all retailers
throughout Malaysia from 1" October to 31't December 2008. With every purchase of LoveBox condoms, RM0.50 will be donatedto this Education Fund. Chastal Marketing is targeting at
raising RM20, 000 from this promotion.
The WAO Anak Angkat prograrnmewas set up to help former residentsand their children of the
WAO Refuge who have decided to live independent lives after leaving the Refuge. The
programme began in 1985. The women are often financially dependenton their abusive partners
for their own needs and those of the children. Many mothers still find difficulty financing
their childrents schooling needs, so the Anak Angkat programme was set up to offer aid
specifically for their school going children. Sponsors are encouraged to write to the
children and are invited to meet the children at the end of the year. Sponsors are also given
an end-of- year report describing the progress of the child's studies.

The monthly sponsorshipis RM60 per month per child, goes towards items such as school
sponsorsto pledgeto helpinga child for
uniforms,booki, stationery,milk etc.WAO encourages
a full yearat RM740.00per year,the extraRM 20.00for adminexpenses.
ln2007,there were fifty (50) childrenwho were recipientsof the progralnmefrom twenty one
(21) sponsors.From January2008 to date, WAO has forty two (42) children belongingto
seventien(17) motherswho are on the Anak Angkatprogramme.Over the years,four hundred
(400) mothers and seven hundred and fifty (750) children have benefited through this
prograrnme.
WAO is happy that ChastalMarketing is continuingtheir efforts in raising funds for this
programmeas it is a constantchallengefor us to raisethe funds.Sponsorsdo not continuetheir
iponsorshipto the following yearandthe childrenarebackon the waiting list for new sponsors.
