National Geographic And Holiday Group/Travelpro Sign Licensing
Agreement to Develop New Lines of Luggage
National Geographic, one of the world’s largest scientific and educational organizations, has
selected Montreal-based Holiday Group Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary Travelpro
International Inc. in the United States as its primary luggage and travel accessories licensee
under its National Geographic and National Geographic Explorer brands for North America.
Under this multiyear agreement, National Geographic and Holiday/Travelpro will team to
launch a comprehensive line of travel gear in U.S. and Canadian retail stores in fall 2012.
“For more than a century, NG explorers and photographers have traveled the world to
capture stunning images and collect compelling stories,” said Krista Newberry, National
Geographic’s senior vice president of licensing, North America. “As a leading pioneer and
innovator in the travel category, Holiday Group has the particular experience and ability to
create products inspired by National Geographic's adventurous spirit.”

Travelpro Introduces the National Geographic Kontiki™
Luggage Collection
Travelpro International, the leading manufacturer of lightweight durable luggage, is proud to
partner with National Geographic, one of the world’s largest scientific and educational
nonprofit organizations, to introduce the Kontiki™ adventure luggage collection. National
Geographic has selected the Montreal-based Holiday Group Inc. and its wholly owned
subsidiary Travelpro International Inc. in the United States as its luggage and travel
accessories licensee for the National Geographic and National Geographic Explorer™
brands in North America.
Inspired by safari travellers and explorers, the Kontiki luggage collection combines the
ruggedly stylish retro look of yesteryear with today’s modern travel features. Kontiki luggage
is made with recycled khaki-colored fabric that looks exactly like canvas, yet is much lighter
and more durable. Rich faux-leather accents and antique brass hardware finish emphasize
the authentic safari style. This versatile 8-piece offering combines lightweight long-lasting
upright luggage, soft and rolling duffels, a messenger bag and a daypack, all in one matching
collection.
“Ideal for camping, skiing and off-road trips, the Kontiki Duffels are a must-have for

The Kontiki luggage collection has unique features for every adventure traveller’s needs. The
ball-bearing in-line skate wheels on the upright and rolling duffel models are tested for over
25 miles and the handle system is tested over 12,500 cycles for optimal performance. The
collection comes standard with a unique interior lining featuring a map of the world, capturing
the importance and spirit of National Geographic.
Multiple exterior pockets allow easy access to a laptop or tablet, boarding pass, cellphone
electronics and more. Other features include 2 ½” expansion capability for additional packing
room, a removable drawstring laundry bag to keep dirty and clean clothes separate and a
built-in interior wet pocket to store toiletries or wet items. The duffels have a convenient drop
bottom compartment that is ideal for storing shoes and bulky gear.
The Kontiki Collection is made with khaki fabric from recycled materials. The entire line

combines soft and rolling duffels, uprights, a daypack and a sling bag.

The Northwall luggage collection has unique features for every adventure traveller’s needs.
The oversized ball-bearing wheels on upright and rolling duffel models are tested for over 25
miles and the handle system is tested over 12,500 cycles for optimal performance. Each
upright includes two built-in wet pockets for storing toiletries or wet clothing. The collection
comes standard with a unique interior lining featuring a map of the night-time constellations,
capturing the essence of the legendary National Geographic brand.
A large front pocket with a padded laptop compartment allows easy access to a laptop or
tablet. A business organizer stores pens, files, cards and keys. Other features include four
carry handles to lift the luggage into an overhead bin or car trunk, a side-zippered water
bottle pocket, 2 ½’ of expansion to expand an already spacious main compartment and a
handy electronics pocket for a phone or music player.
The Northwall Collection line includes the following options: 22” Soft Duffel, Sling Bag,

and a telescoping handle that has been tested over 15,000 cycles for durability. Its rugged,
polyester fabric with Duraguard™ coating provides stain, water and abrasion resistance,
maintaining its sporty, stylish-look over time. The collection’s dense EVA foam construction
provides exceptional durability, while keeping the luggage lightweight, compact, and ultraportable.
To ease the hassles of packing and organization, T-Pro Bold luggage features roomy and
easily accessible storage compartments. The collection provides for convenient storage of
beverages, hot/cold food or bathing suits in its water-resistant lined pocket as well as multiple
interior pockets that provide easy organization for accessories and clothing. Additionally, the
backpack and 22” Carry-on Rollaboard® includes an iPod earphone port that allows you to
listen to music while hiding electronics. A convenient Carabiner comes standard on all
models and can be used to securely hold keys or as a bottle opener. The roomy main
