The PSU comes with the United States style plug installed. To change the plug tip: • Using a small screw driver, place in half circle area just below power prongs, and push in and upward. • Pull off the plug converter that was attached • Install a new plug tip and push into place until clicks Accelerated Concepts, Inc. ©2016 5301-DC User’s Guide 5 of 25 Inserting in Desktop Stand ACCELERATED.COM The desktop stand that is included with the 5301-DC will only fit onto the unit one way. • Hold 5301-DC with logo facing you • Indicator light should be on the left side • Place stand on flat service and insert 5301-DC in stand as shown in diagram below Accelerated Concepts, Inc. ©2016 5301-DC User’s Guide 6 of 25 Setup ACCELERATED.COM Phone line / device When setting up the 5301-DC follow these steps: LINE 1. Connect the phone cord from the phone port (OUT) on dial-up device to the phone port on the 5301-DC. 2. Connect the Ethernet cable from the Ethernet port on 5301-DC to a Ethernet port on your router or modem, or simply plug your LAN Ethernet cable into the 5301-DC. 3. Connect the Universal Power Supply unit to the power (PWR) port of the 5301-DC. 4. During start up the 5301-DC’s indicator light will initially be solid amber for 30-60 seconds and change to blinking amber for 10-30 seconds while searching for an Ethernet connection. Once a Ethernet connection is established the indicator will change to solid green. 5. Turn on your dial-up device and initiate dialing. 6. Once dial out is initiated, the Indicator Light will blink magenta. 7. When the connection is established and the data is being transferred, the Indicator Light is solid magenta. Phone Cord 5301-DC Converter Ethernet Cable 8. When the transfer of data is completed, the Indicator Light changes back to a solid green. Note: The Phone port of the 5301-DC must never be connected to the public telephone network and should only be connected to your dial-up device. Accelerated Concepts, Inc. ©2016 Internet Router 5301-DC User’s Guide 7 of 25 Troubleshooting ACCELERATED.COM In the event that you are not able to get a solid green Indicator Light during setup: 1. Check the device has power by confirming that the indicator light is lit in any color. 2. Confirm that the included power supply is being used and the outlet it is plugged into has power. In the event the Indicator Light continues to blink amber during setup: 1. Confirm the network you are connecting to is active by connecting and testing another Ethernet capable device (such as your laptop). 2. Confirm the network you are connecting to supports DHCP. If a static IP address is required, refer to the section Configuring a Static IP Address for more information. 3. Confirm the router you are connecting to is functioning correctly. 4. Confirm you have the Ethernet cable plugged into the correct ports (see Figure 1) 5. Change to a different Ethernet cable. 6. Turn the 5301-DC off, wait 5 seconds, and then turn the device back on again. 7. As a last resort, to reset the device to factory default settings, use the end of a paperclip to press the RESET switch on the rear of the device. The reset action does not change the level of firmware installed on the device. In the event you are not able to get a blinking magenta light when initiating dial out from the legacy device, follow these steps: 1. Make sure the phone cord is attached correctly. (see Figure 1) 2. Connect a Telephone to the PHONE Port to verify the 5301-DC simulated dial tone is audible. 3. Change to a different phone cord cable. 4. Reboot the legacy dial device/modem. If you need additional assistance, please contact technical support or visit www.accelerated.com/support for more information. Accelerated Concepts, Inc. ©2016 5301-DC User’s Guide 11 of 25 Managing Device Locally ACCELERATED.COM The 5301-DC also supports local device management should it be required. Connecting to the Device Communication with the device is via its Ethernet port. You can access the device via the default IP address using a PC connected to its Ethernet port. The default IP address is 192.168.210.1. Alternatively, when connected to your site network, your Accelerated 5301-DC will attempt to use DHCP to establish a connection and obtain an IP address. If a DHCP server is operating on the site network then the device will receive an IP address configuration from the local network. You can also access the device using the IP address provided in the DHCP connection. Accelerated Concepts, Inc. ©2016 5301-DC User’s Guide 12 of 25 Manually Configuring PC to Connect to Device ACCELERATED.COM To manually connect to the device using the device’s default IP address (192.168.210.1), you must manually set an IP address on your PC to be able to communicate with the Accelerated 5301-DC. 1. Select the Properties of the relevant network connection on the Windows PC.
