Stunning & Sustainable
Founded by William Hands, a professional
chair and cabinetmaker, the company has
been manufacturing for over 100 years on
the existing site at High Wycombe, deep
in the heart of English Furniture making
within the Chiltern Hills. During this time
we have developed an unrivalled reputation
for making the finest commercial furniture
at an affordable price.
We are proud that the company has been
involved in many prestigious projects that
include being commissioned to make the
chairs for the coronation of both HRH King
George VI and Queen Elizabeth II. We
made the furniture in the boardroom of
the Lloyds of London building and we also
designed and made all the furniture for the
Judges and Justices in the Royal Courts.
More recently we have been commissioned
on some of the best installations of seating
within third space areas, lounges and
boardrooms in various locations from
Aberdeen and London to Doha, Qatar.
HANDS are well known for being designers
and makers of both high quality furniture
and upholstery that co-ordinate with
each other. This is so important as it gives
a perfect matching solution in terms of
aesthetics, proportion and maximising
available space. The level of our work is
accepted as being the best relative to
the budget available, therefore ensuring
the client’s brief is met and satisfaction
guaranteed.

CONNECT
LOW P R O F I L E
CONNECT is a complete seating concept
encompassing low, medium and high back heights
in single and multiple place versions, allowing the
possibility of creating a landscape of upholstery.
With the addition of key accessory items such as
screens and tables, more private, collaborative
working can be achieved in booths or chair clusters.
The low back version of CONNECT gives the
opportunity to create a very relaxed, uncluttered
look in a variety of different settings from individual
places to multiple seating arrangements. The back
cushions and upholstered structure not only look
good, but also make for an easy sit or a casual
perch in informal meetings.
The common theme across the range is the look
and feel of high quality workmanship.

The focus with CONNECT is to achieve the maximum
flexibility in what have been termed as “third spaces”,
such as breakout areas and work lounges, where
formal work is made more relaxed and pleasurable
by nature of the environment and the facilities.
The more traditional sofa or club chair look has its
place to create more definitive formal seating areas,
where extra comfort and delineation is required. The
sumptuous high back cushions and sprung seats give
a lasting impression of comfort that will make your
guests feel they are really being looked after!

CONNECT
PULLMAN STYLE
The high back version of CONNECT is designed to
facilitate a more private way of working, whether
it is collaborative or indeed for focused individual
moments. Positioned against a wall or with an
optional screen and table, booths can be
configured railway carriage or coffee shop style,
thus creating a really comfortable, yet dedicated
and contained workplace.
The theme is one of working comfort and
endorsement of a high quality corporate statement.
The attention to detail gives a look and feel, leaving
a truly lasting professional impression. With a
variety of different finishes, fabrics and hides to
choose from, CONNECT can be surprisingly cost
effective depending upon the type of setting,
the organisation, the layout and ultimately the
perception it needs to create.

LIBRA
DOUBLE O
This version of LIBRA is slimmer and more compact
than the original N Type version, so can be fitted
into areas with less free space. It has a distinct look
with a characteristic button and stitching detail to
the back cushions. Two heights of armrest can also
be specified creating a unique look if specified in the
same room. A variety of different feet can also be
selected to give a finishing touch.

LIBRA
SIXTY
LIBRA Sixty is the same as its sister Double O, apart
from the simpler plain upholstery detail without
buttons. It too is available in both high and low arm
versions and a selection of feet including tapered
solid timber in a variety of species and polished
and chromed steel can be specified. Like its larger
brother, the N Type, these chairs and sofas can be
tailored to suit a particular room size if required.

SWIVEL & CANTILEVER
Cool, crisp and contemporary are just a few words
that have been used to describe the design form of
PRECEPT. It is practical and equally as comfortable
as a work chair at a desk or for use at a meeting
table. The swivel models have either an easily
adjustable height and lockable tilt mechanism
or a memory return mechanism for use in
boardroom settings.

The static versions of PRECEPT can be made as
a standard cantilever or as a stacking chair. The
stacking version is made with slimmer upholstery
and a lighter construction allowing it to be easily
nested. To fit budget and the aesthetic brief, both
polished chrome and metallic graphite black finishes
are available on the tubular framework. To give
a more distinct look, timber backs are available
on both the swivel and standard (non-stacking)
cantilever versions in a wide selection of HANDS
standard veneer offerings.

All Orion Soft Overstitch Executive swivel and
cantilever chairs are supplied with an additional
overstitch detal to the perimiter of each individual
soft support pad and seat surround.

The ORION Soft range offers an unrivalled style and
comfort, its sartorial elegance is so evident in the
beautiful upholstered soft, stepped, and supportive
cushioning.

ORION
CLASSIC & SLIM
The ORION range in both its cool steel or elegant
timber finish is the ultimate executive, boardroom
and meeting area chair range. Its intrinsic design
gives exceptional comfort both behind the desk
and at long meetings, whilst its look speaks for
itself in terms of clean aesthetic lines and practical
functionality. The optional veneered backs, available
in both vertically grained Walnut and horizontally
veneered Oak, can be coordinated with your HANDS
desks and tables with the same detailing.
The upholstery is now available in either the original
“Classic” plush form or a “Slim” version that employs
the shell curvature to give long term comfort.

This beautiful chair is made using the finest of solid
timber including Walnut, Oak, Ash and Beech. The
lines of the carefully crafted and polished arms give a
pleasing feel to the hand, whilst its tailored upholstery
offers long term comfort in both dining and executive
board meeting settings.
The key additional feature of this chair is its ability to
be stacked when not in use. It is both strong, stable
and yet comparatively light in weight making it easy
to handle.

The VERDI range of exclusive executive chairs
truly shows the high quality that the HANDS name
reflects. The design is based on elegant, sharp lines
which given the wide choice of finish and upholstery,

The chairs are available in two sizes. The standard
version is a very comfortable solution and more than
adequate for use as a visitor or boardroom chair in
the majority of installations, however the “spacious”

that meeting room for another function, be it for
a conference or a stand up function. CHANGE
offers all the elegance of a classic boardroom
chair with excellent levels of sitting comfort and
the functionality of a comparatively lightweight
timber stacking chair, enabling quick and easy
clearance. Made from the highest grade solid timbers
(guaranteed by independent audit to be from fully
sustainable sources) it is available in a number of
species including Walnut, Oak, Ash and Beech,
that can be stained to colour if required.

The EDO chair is unique for its style in as much as
it is a true stacking chair as well. It is upholstered
using traditional methods using sprung seats,
tailored foam, plush fabrics and quality hides to give
an unrivalled level of comfort and opulence in an
executive or private dining facility. The solid Beech
legs and frame offer great strength as well as the
opportunity to be polished to colour and therefore
match in with other design elements of the room.

A collection of seating that points to the latest in
creativity from the HANDS design team. It consists
of generously proportioned club chairs in both single
and twin versions, a sofa and a more compact Café
Club chair. The common theme is the crisp angular
form that leads down to the beautifully crafted solid
timber STILETTO legs. The Café Club version of
STILETTO has a useful sitting height that allows it to
be used both in break out areas, bars or as a table
chair in executive meetings and boardrooms. Its deep
buttoned luxury upholstery gives a truly sumptuous
feel, whilst its retro looks and evident craftsmanship
leave a lasting impression.
