Are you thinking about buying a stove or other
type of fireplace? If so, you have come to the
right place. Here we present all types of fireplace and you are bound to find one that will
be a warm friend for life. Regardless of which
Contura you select, you will get an efficient heat
diffuser that will both give pleasure and save
money on the heating bills. Contura has sizes
ranging from the small stove for the cottage to
majestic installations for large reception rooms.
And everything in between.
Personal style
With our accessories you can give the fireplace
your own personal style and adapt it to your
interests and needs.
You can, for example, choose the colour, a
different top plate, door, log box, baking oven,
hotplate, fan, heat tank, damper, a connection
to external supply air, floor protector and much
more. All accessories are made by Contura for
Contura and fit the stoves perfectly.
Choose design
Fireplaces from Contura are appreciated
because they show so much of the fire. This
makes many of the models easy to position,
even in confined spaces. Thanks to the large
glass areas, in most models the flames can be
seen from at least three sides.
The large glass areas can be found in the
stoves, inserts and tiled stoves in all shapes;
round, angular, tall, low, narrow. Have a good
look! We are sure that you will find the one you
want.
Different types
How much of the heating will the fire be responsible for? Is there a chimney breast or will
a new chimney need to be installed? Is the old
masonry open fire to be made more efficient?
Do you want a new masonry stove but do not
have a chimney breast? We have a solution for
every need. We distinguish between Freestanding stoves in different materials, Inserts and masonry stoves as well as Tiled stoves. Read more

Properties your fireplace needs

High flame visibility. Several of Contura’s
models have generous glass areas that
display a lot of the fire. Our symbol for flame
visibility indicates how much flame a particular
model displays.
Swan marked and CE marked. Most
Contura products are certified in accordance
with SIS Miljömärkning AB’s quality mark – the
Swan. All are CE marked, which guarantees a
safe product.

Cast iron door. In order to resist the
stresses that arise with the large temperature
variations, the door must be made from
shape-retaining cast iron.

High level of efficiency. The efficiency is
the relationship between the energy the stove
gives off and the energy that is supplied in
the form of logs. Contura stoves have an
efficiency of up to 81 %.

Swedish made and guaranteed. Contura
stoves are high quality Swedish products

Clean Burning System. The combustion
air is heated to extremely high temperatures
and flushed out onto the inside of the glass,
which prevents soot build-up. This ensures
that the fire is always visible in the room.
Simple to use. Contura products are
equipped with a single control for exact
output regulation, which allows simple and
precise combustion control. The door, grates
and ashbox are also easily accessible.

Flexible. Contura is available in a number
of variants and models. You can install a
completely new stove, integrate with the
existing chimney breast or stove and most
importantly find your own style.

Fan and heat retention. For maximum
efficiency in heating, it is possible to choose
fans and different heat retention properties
for several of the Contura models.

Many options. Supplement with one or
more options such as a baking oven, warming
shelf, drawer, floor protector of sheet metal or
glass. Both stoves and round tiled stoves can
be positioned in the middle of the room.

Powerful convection. The cool room air
is drawn into the stove from underneath, is
heated and rises. Just a few minutes later the
hot air flows out into the room.

Contura freestanding stoves are available in a number of models and
sizes. The following pages show all models and variants. You can of
course read about all our stoves at www.contura.eu.
How large an area can the stove heat? What does the area where the
stove is be located look like? There are different factors that determine the choice of the size of the firebox, the heating capacity as well
as the size of the stove itself.
When you are clear about what suits your needs, the most important
thing remains:
To choose a stove that is easy on the eye and that will be a dear
friend to the home for many years to come.

and generous side glass means that you can

Contura 26 is for those of you who want to
see a lot of the fire and want to be really
warm and cosy Contura 26 is available
with a gloss white or matt sandcoloured tile
casing and with heat retaining, naturally patterned soapstone.
The heat tank is included in the low models
and is optional for the tall models.

The soapstone model can be supplemented with both a
fan and heat tank, which gives 18 hours of heating after
the fire has gone out. The amount of hot air can be regulated using the damper on the upper side of the stove.

Therefore, the product can be recycled without
the spread of toxic substances.
A Swan marked stove is CO2-neutral, because the carbon dioxide produced during the
efficient combustion of bioenergy is taken up
in the corresponding quantity when new trees
are growing.

attractive stove with a curved back that is ideal for corners. It is easy to remove the ash. Hotplate and chromed

Worth knowing about heating
Output
Combustion air
The output is given in kW (kilowatt) and corresponds to the heat given off by the stove at
a certain time. The more you burn, the greater
the heat output. An electric radiator normally
gives off an output of 1 kW. An sauna unit normally gives off a full output of 5 kW.
In order to achieve efficient combustion, air
is supplied to many of the Contura models in
different stages. First primary air is supplied to
the fire bed. In some models this air is supplied via flushing of the glass surfaces, which
minimizes the risk of soot build up. Then
secondary air is supplied via a spreader in the
back of the stove. Thus, the stove never runs
out of oxygen and burns cleanly and efficiently. Clean Burning System

If the stove has an output of 4 kW for 10 hours
the house has been supplied with an energy
volume of 40 kWh (kilowatt hours).

Efficiency
The attractive, curved, one-piece rear section
makes the Contura 54 a striking stove of the
highest quality. The models with one-piece
sides also have adjustable legs.
The relationship between the exploited and
supplied energy in a system. The higher the
level of efficiency (0-100%) the better the stove
exploits the supplied energy, in the form of
the logs that are burned. A stove that is wood
fired usually has an efficiency of 50-70 %. Most
Contura models have levels of efficiency in
excess of 70%.
P marking
P marking is certified by the Swedish National
Testing and research Institute. A P marked
stove has undergone extra thorough manufacturing checks, has passed extra tough
environmental restrictions and burns equally
cleanly across the whole output range. The P
mark is a type of quality guarantee and shows
that the stove is highly efficient during low
wood consumption.

a unique stove right from the start. No two pieces of
stone are identical. Changes in the shade and grain
of the stone can vary a lot, giving the surface life
and the stone its own style.

The stoves in the 600 series have a larger
firebox than their siblings in the 500 series.
This means a larger door with larger expanse of glass and that longer logs can
be used.
There is a practical space at the top that
can either be used as an open warming

powerstone at the top. Of course, there
is a huge selection of casings in different

Light with the environment in mind
Almost all consumption affects the environment. However, there are some products
that have less impact on the environment than others. They are Swan labelled, such as
the Contura stoves. This makes burning wood an environmentally-marked, renewable,
clean and economical heating method.
Everything we do has an impact on the environment in some way. Today, we often have
the opportunity to influence to what extent. One way to contribute to a reduced environmental impact when choosing a stove is to look out for the Swan label.
Stringent requirements are placed on the manufacture and use of Swan marked stoves.
Therefore, the product can be recycled without the spread of toxic substances.
The requirements for efficient combustion are also high. It is during combustion that
unhealthy particulates and hydrocarbons are formed. Contura stoves have a combustion efficiency that puts them below the permitted limits, provided that you light properly.

A Swan marked stove is CO2-neutral, because the carbon dioxide produced during the
efficient combustion of bioenergy is taken up in the corresponding quantity when new
trees are growing.

The Contura 30, 50, 500, 700, 800, i4, i5, i6, i30 and i40 Series
stoves are all exempt for use in a Smoke Control Area when
using woodfuel of 20% moisture content or less. Using quality,
dry biomass woodfuel is important for the clean and efficient
operation of your stove; better for you and better for the environment!

stove controls the intensity of the fire by regulating the amount of combustion air. The combustion air is heated to extremely high temperatures and flushed out onto the inside of the
glass, which prevents soot build-up.
High combustion. In the rear of the stove
there is an extra duct system for spreading
preheated combustion air. The system is called
Clean Burning and is activated by sliding the
control on the front to the left. The stove burns
efficiently and for long periods resulting in a combustion with very low particle concentrations.
