(AUSTIN, TX)—Today the Austin Film Society
(AFS) made two special announcements about
the upcoming THE SCHOOL OF ROCK 10th
Anniversary Reunion on August 29th.
Miranda Cosgrove, who made her big screen
debut 10-years ago in THE SCHOOL OF ROCK
prior to starring in the title role of the hit
Nickelodeon show iCarly, will join in the
festivities in Austin on August 29th. In addition to
her television and film work, which has included
voicing the character of Margo in the DESPICABLE
ME movies, Cosgrove is a recording artist whose
debut album “Sparks Fly” reached #8 on Billboard’s
top 200 charts. Cosgrove will attend the 10th
Anniversary screening and Q&A of THE SCHOOL
OF ROCK at Austin’s Paramount Theater, as well
as the VIP after party at the Gibson Austin
Showroom on Thursday, August 29th. Tickets go on sale to the general public on August 7th at noon.
Gibson Brands to host two guitar giveaways in celebration! Starting August 5th running through September

About THE SCHOOL OF ROCK (2003)
A decade may have passed since the original release of Richard Linklater’s hilarious and beloved THE SCHOOL
OF ROCK, but its exuberant spirit will resonate with first time viewers today as it did in 2003. In a career-defining
performance, Jack Black plays Dewey Finn, a wannabe rock star turned imposter substitute teacher with
designs to turn a fifth grade classroom of prep school overachievers into a tried and true rock ‘n’ roll band. Black
is truly in his element as the rock-savvy wild man, which is no surprise as the role was penned specifically for
him by screenwriter and co-star Mike White, but what is most delightful is watching him shine equally in poignant
scenes as he does in the film's many outrageous comedic moments. Rounding out the ensemble are comedy
veterans Joan Cusack and Sarah Silverman, as well as a flock of amazingly talented (now college-age)
youngsters.
