CHINESE VISA APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Dear Hong Kong Polytechnic University students,
You are now ready to apply for your Tourist Visa to China for the Bridging Cultures Program portion of
your study abroad program. Please follow the directions and screenshots below carefully, as it will be
your responsibility to secure your Chinese visa before your departure for the program. Please call your
GlobaLinks Learning Abroad Program Manager with any questions at 1-800-980-0033.
Items you will need to start the Chinese Tourist Visa process:
1. Passport with 6 months of validity AFTER program end date
2. Permanent Residency Card (for non-US citizens)
3. Flight Itinerary
Additional requirements for applicants born in China, Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan:
1. Chinese Name - The applicant's name written in Chinese characters.
2. Proof of name change - If the applicant's name has changed since birth, please provide a copy of
the court order or marriage certificate showing the name change.
3. Previous visa - Copy of a previously issued Chinese visa or copy of the information page from
your Chinese, Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwanese passport. Note: If your old passport has not
been canceled, you will be required to submit the original passport with your application.
After completing your Chinese Tourist Visa application, you will need to mail the following items to
VisaHQ’s headquarters.

Step 1: Gather all of your documents together, and visit www.visahq.com. Click on
“register” to the right of the screen.
Step 2: Enter your details to create your own personal login. MAKE SURE TO
ENTER YOUR MyLearn EMAIL AS YOUR USERNAME, AND “AsiaGLA”
AS YOUR PASSWORD. This will allow your program manager to help you in
your visa application if needed.

Step 3: Complete the Personal Details.
Step 4: Click on the
button. Search for the China Visa.
Step 5: Make sure that the “Tourist Visa” tab is highlighted, and then click
Step 6: Make sure to select the Tourist Visa, Multiple Entry
Step 7: VERY IMPORTANT. MAKE SURE TO HAVE IDENTICAL
INFORMATION TO WHAT YOU SEE BELOW: The full address of your stay in
China is below.

Step 8: Please make payment for the Visa application, and print off payment
confirmation page, and your Visa application. SIGN your visa application. Mail
visa application and payment confirmation directly to VisaHQ headquarters.

Kong Polytechnic University facilitates students’ attendance in study abroad programs. I will be

This letter is to confirm the hotel reservation for the following Chinese Tourist Visa Application. This
student is a participant on the Hong Kong Polytechnic University semester study abroad program.
