Captivating Classics Scene by Scene
Boston Center for Adult Education Offers New Series of Film Classes
(Boston, MA) June X, 2014- This summer the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) invites film
lovers both young and old to its new series of film classes, which offers an in-depth look at the magic
behind some of the most monumental pictures. Throughout July and August 2014, the BCAE is taking an
in-depth look at two highly regarded films, “Casablanca” and “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless
Mind.” In each class students will study one of these films over the course of three weeks. By looking at
each film scene by scene, students will get an in-depth understanding of how it is filmed, what goes into
the making of the film, and how a timeless masterpiece was born.
Both classes are held at the Boston Center for Adult Education located at 122 Arlington Street in Boston,
MA, and are taught by instructor Stephen Brophy, a movie reviewer and instructor at MIT.
Registration is required and ends on July 14th, 2014 for “Casablanca” and August 4th, 2014 for “Eternal
Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.” For more information or to sign up, please visit www.bcae.org or call the
Boston Center for Adult Education at 617-267-4430.
Class Schedule:
What Makes a Hollywood Classic: “Casablanca”
In “Casablanca” love walks back into the life of a man who has given up on it. What happens next? How
did Michael Curtiz, with his cast and crew, create something from such a basic story that we still love to
watch 64 years later? Come watch it sequence by sequence and find out what goes into the making of
one of the greatest love stories in the history of cinema.
When: Every Monday July 14th- July 28th; 6:30PM-8:30PM. 3 sessions
Cost: $102 / $87 for members
What Makes a Cult Classic: “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”
People can erase the memories of failed love from their minds in Michel Gondry's “Eternal Sunshine of the
Spotless Mind” - but is that as good as it sounds? How did Gondry transform a basically gloomy
screenplay by Charlie Kaufman into one of the most enjoyable romantic comedies of the last decade? Join
us for a sequence-by-sequence examination of this cult classic and find out.
When: Every Monday August 4th- August 18th; 6:30PM-8:30PM. 3 sessions
Cost: $102 / $87 for members

About G2O Spa + Salon:
Providing The Formula for the Essentials of Life, G2O is Boston's Day Spa Resort for men, women and couples. Originally opening in
1994 as Giuliano Spa for Beauty & Wellness, G2O underwent several expansions at its first location on Newbury Street before
moving into its all-new home at 278 Newbury Street in 2010.To create G2O's present home, Founder and CEO Joyce Hampers
purchased two historic Newbury Street brownstones in 2008, subsequently joining them to form one unified space. By its reopening
in August of 2010, the resulting structure had been completely transformed to create a totally "green" building. Just a block away
from its original location, the all-new G2O celebrates a new generation of innovative spa and salon services and amenities ranging
from Brine Inhalation Therapy to the Bali Paradise Experience, Acupuncture treatments, state-of-the-art sunless tanning, a

chrome accents, G2O offers a refreshing, whole body and mind experience designed to complement the contemporary urban
lifestyle. Utilizing a crisp blue and white color palette, the tone throughout the building's five floors is fresh and modern.
