To all the beautiful people who seek
to genuinely love themselves
and live the life their souls truly want.
Author’s Introduction
We are all precious beings with souls, not just visible bodies. Even those who doubt
the existence of the soul feel pretty bad when they hear someone say, “You don’t
seem to have a soul.”
The reason people doubt the existence of the soul, I think, is that they have
little experience with it. The voice of the soul is drowned out in everyday life by a
cacophony of countless thoughts and emotions. With time, the existence of our souls
is gradually forgotten.
I’ve created the Bird of the Soul Training to help anyone easily feel close to her
soul, and I am enabling people to experience this through workshops. Visualizing
the Bird of the Soul, which symbolizes the energy of the soul in our hearts, brings
us concrete, vivid feelings.
Our souls want to be free, like birds soaring in the blue sky. Yet heavy emotions
from past memories, attachments, and fixed ideas often weigh them down, keeping
them from being free. We feel suffocated, like a butterfly caught in a spider’s web.
For our souls to be free, we need to purify our heavy, tangled emotions and change
to pure, emotion-free energy.
With its spread of beautiful childlike illustrations, this book tells the story of Jay,
a protagonist who resembles us, drawing a picture of how we are distanced from our
souls as we grow up, and how we can recover the feeling of being a pure, free soul
we had when we were very young. I hope that as you travel life’s journey with Jay,
you will regain what is very precious and important, which you may have forgotten.
The CD in the back of the book includes the Bird of the Soul guided meditation,
comprising two audio tracks. The first heals the energy of the soul weighed down
by heavy, unresolved emotions that stem from past memories. A soul can finally fly
free as a bird only after its energy is lighter and has been purified. The second track
guides you as you fly with the bird of your soul, enabling you to experience deeply
your soul’s freedom.
The 21-Day Meditation Journal also found in the back of the book will serve as
a wonderful tool you can use to develop your soul’s energy as you meet and communicate with the bird of your soul for 21 days. Through 21 days of meditation, I hope
your soul’s energy will expand gradually, and your soul will finally take its place at
the center of your life.
May your days be filled with the fresh fragrance of your soul.

W
hen Jay was born, the bird of his soul was born with him,
And built a nest in his heart.
2 J
ay and his soul bird grew up together.
When Jay laughed, his soul bird laughed with him.
When Jay rejoiced, his soul bird rejoiced, too.
J
ay played with the bird every day, sitting against a giant elm tree.
Whenever he was lost in his imagination, his soul bird would spread its wings
And fly with him to the world he was imagining.
Jay
could become whatever he wanted when he was with the bird of his soul.
W
hen Jay was sad over a scolding or felt ignored by people around him.
His soul bird would be sad, too.
But the wise bird would take heart and sing Jay a song.
“It’s all right. It’s OK. All is well.
You have me.
I’ll love you forever.
I’ll be with you forever and ever.”
W
hen Jay would sing along with his soul bird,
“Yes, yes, that’s right,
You have me.
I’ll be with you forever and ever,”
The fresh green leaves of the old elm
Sang along with the warm spring sunshine and gentle breeze.
“Yes, that is right. All is well.
You have me.”
T
ime went by, and Jay grew up quickly.
He was surrounded by new friends,
And busy doing what his parents and
Teachers wanted him to do.
He stopped going to the elm tree.
He liked playing with his friends
More than with the bird of his soul.
His soul bird spent
More and more time alone.
E
very time Jay’s heart was wounded, his soul bird was hurt, too.
Yet, as always, the bird of his soul took heart and sang for Jay.
“It’s all right. It’s OK. Please remember —

You have me.”
But now his mind was so full of other things that
Jay could not hear the bird’s song.
21-Day Meditation with Your
The guided meditation CD and 21-Day Meditation Journal in the back of the book
are designed to help you reconnect with your soul.
I recommend you do the Bird of the Soul meditation for 21 days with the CD
and write down your awakenings and inspirations in the journal after your meditation.
There are two tracks on the CD. The first is a meditation for feeling your soul
and healing its wounds; the second is a meditation for feeling your soul’s freedom as
you fly with your soul bird.
For your soul to fly free, you must first heal its wounds, making its energy brighter and
lighter. So, at first, listen to tracks 1 and 2 in order and follow along with the meditation.
After you repeat this meditation several times and feel your energy is sufficiently
purified and light, you can skip track 1 and practice only with track 2.
It’s a good idea at this time to begin training with track 2 after sensing your
soul’s energy in your heart as you close your eyes and feel your breath. Additionally,
when you fly with your soul bird in meditation, you could get up and do a free energy
dance if you wanted to.
Day 1
The depths of the feeling we experience when we
encounter the beautiful souls within us is the first
great discovery of our lives.
Congratulations today on your first meeting with the bird of your soul. Draw a picture
or write a description below of the shape and colors of your soul bird as you saw it
during the meditation. Also, give the bird of your soul a beautiful name.
