The system has two trail heads (north and south) to access the trails and can be used for hiking and biking. This trail system is home to several annual events and is a popular destination for the hiking and biking community. Lake Lurleen State Park is also a part of the Alabama Birding Trails. The Tashka Trail System and the lake are both excellent places to bird watch. LAKE L URLEEN TRAILS 49 2 1 LAKE ACTIVITIES The main attraction at the park is 250-acre Lake Lurleen. The lake measures nearly 1 1/2 miles in length, ½-half mile wide, and at its deepest is 48 feet. The lake is stocked with largemouth bass, bream, catfish and crappie so anglers are sure to reel in a nice-sized catch. Boat launch areas and ample pier and bank fishing are available.
