what is akril?
Akril is an affordable, yet dazzlingly beautiful
collection of glass effect panels for kitchens,
utility rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms and shower
rooms. It is the 21st century better alternative
to ceramic tiles and glass.

It has 17 diverse solid and pearlescent colours
and has a thickness of 4mm. This gives you a
fantastic colour intensity and reflection through
Akril’s surface and exposed edges - just like glass!

Akril is environmentally friendly as it uses much
less energy than glass during its production and
can also be recycled.

beautiful and tough
It is 25 times more impact resistant and stronger
than glass, so it will not shatter when it is
bumped into. It has a high heat resistance (up to
100°C) and will put up with the kettle steaming
against it one minute and an icy blast the next
because someone has left the door open!

Both beautiful and tough, Akril is a highly durable
surface for the ups and downs of everyday living.
In the unlikely event your Akril panels become
scuffed or scratched, these marks can be simply
polished away.

cleaning chemicals, everyday stains, scratches
and the ultra-violet rays from sunlight.

hygienic and easy to maintain
Unlike tiles and glass, Akril is tough and will not
fracture or shatter. Minor scuffs and scratches
can be polished away, repairing the surface to
its original high gloss finish.

Akril is easy to keep clean using warm water
and a microfibre cloth or chamois. For stubborn
stains, non-abrasive cleaning materials are
available that are designed to be used with
Akril`s acrylic polymer surface. Strong cleaning
chemicals are not required. Because Akril is
100% waterproof, it is completely hygienic and
bacteria will not develop on its surface.

easy to install
Completely unlike glass, which has to be
templated and then machined in a specialist
factory, Akril can be easily cut to size and
installed on site using standard woodworking
tools. So Akril avoids the delays and
inconvenience of glass and ceramic tile products.
Akril has a comprehensive choice of panel
dimensions available from stock. This cuts down
the number of wasteful offcuts on a project. The
larger panel dimensions (up to 3600mm lengths)
also make sure that panel joints are minimised.
Akril is half the weight of glass, making
installation much quicker and easier and helping
to cut down on installation costs.
Akril can be just as easily installed in either a
new build or refurbished property.

All Akril panels are protected throughout the
installation because both the top and rear surface
of each panel have a removable protective film.
Akril has been designed to be installed behind
induction, electric and ceramic hobs. It can also
be installed behind gas hobs in conjunction with
purpose made and colour matching high heat
resistant glass panels.

Akril of +/-1 Delta-E for high gloss solid colours and +/- 2 Delta-E for pearlescent solid colours. Pearlescent solid colours have metallic elements suspended within the colour to give the amazing
pearlescent effect. The metallic elements will reflect light differently as you look at the panel from different angles. This may give a perceived colour variation as the angle of view and light source
