I know there are opportunities every day for our special G4S people to do what their instincts and training have prepared them for as they help our clients respond, react and overcome difficult situations. Recently, I had the privilege of joining our team in Boston to recognize some of our personnel for their exceptional response in the aftermath of the horrific bombing at the Boston Marathon. As you will learn in the story on page two of this issue, we were joined by our customer leadership to say ‘thank you’ to the entire Boston team which is led by General Manager Don Giancioppo. But our outstanding efforts in the wake of the Boston bombings are only part of our G4S story this spring. Since our last issue, we have sent out many certificates of appreciation and recognition for a wide array of extraordinary performances and lifesaving activities. It seems that as we continue to grow as a company, we continue to achieve great things. Here at our Americas Headquarters in Palm Beach County, we are in the midst of an American Heart Association fundraising event that will help the AHA in its mission to prevent cardiovascular disease and educate our community. During the preparation for our support, we looked internally and found, at G4S, we have conducted more than 5,000 CPR classes; we have 380 certified trainers and we have saved 32 lives this year alone! Just recently, I was told of the heroic team in Miami that ran into a building to save the lives of people during a potentially dangerous chemical spill. Their story is on page 11. I initially heard the report on the car radio. When the news broadcaster said the security officers are being called ‘true heroes’. How did I know immediately that the officers were G4S? (L to R) G4S Regional Account Manager Bob Ryan; BoA Senior VP Dylan Anderson; G4S Operations Mgr. Tim Jamieson; G4S Account Manager Robert Sullivan; G4S Bank Captain Anthony Phillips; G4S BPO Joubert Barbosa; G4S Bank Captain Luckny Guerine; G4S BPO Wilson Henri; G4S Bank Captain Jonathan Diaz and BoA Regional Director Gary Finn Boston, MA: The G4S team in the Boston area is receiving national recognition for the outstanding work done in the wake of the terrorist bombings. The day of the bombing, G4S security officers were on high alert at banking institutions, colleges, high rises, hospitals and other corporate client locations because of their close proximity to the crime scene and surrounding areas. Immediately after the Boston marathon tragedy, G4S officers helped client businesses with lock downs, enhanced coverage needs and increased patrols. G4S provided one financial institution with security updates every two hours and maintained contact with all sites and clients as needed. As federal and local law enforcement expanded their search for the bombing suspects and ordered businesses closed, G4S Boston General Manager Donald Giancioppo reported that his office successfully added dozens of patrols and enhanced security coverage for new and existing clients. While "Boston Strong" has been a unifying phrase in the bombing aftermath, it certainly describes the way the G4S office team worked together during the crisis. G4S Officer Meets Dr. Condoleeza Rice Beyond our bravery and professionalism is often another kind of G4S response to challenging situations. The story on page 10 about our team in Minnesota shows our devotion to customer service. The G4S staff helped our customer with the technical support needed to bring a new access control system online and on time. These events and many more like them continue to define our organization. The people who perform these heroic acts are G4S. They perform these acts as individuals working for G4S and our customers. Our training and recruiting programs, our CPO program, BPO and USO programs have delivered for G4S and our customers the finest workforce in our industry. This statement is not a marketing effort or an attempt to sell a prospect, it’s a fact. We enjoy the best people in this business and I couldn’t be more proud of our people and our company and simply wanted to say thank you.
