Celebrating our past and looking forward to the future!
Dear Members of the Girl Scouts of Manitou Council,
Our 100th anniversary year allowed us to look back, with our fabulous historic
displays that traveled throughout the council, but our look forward was just as
exciting. Our strategic plan, created this year, will propel us forward in new ways.
The strategic priority of creating a culture that celebrates every second that one is
a Girl Scout seems to shout the feeling of the entire 100th anniversary. The
priorities also seem to acknowledge that what Girl Scouting is RIGHT NOW is
something to preserve and something to improve upon to keep it special for girls
into the future. Both the priority of acknowledging that the community
demonstrates its support of Girl Scouting through buying cookies and the priority
that our camps must remain successful at serving girls but must become more
financially viable for the council to continue, speak directly to core elements of
Girl Scouting. Successfully implementing this plan will drive the council in new
directions but retain the core of who we are.
We will be forever grateful to have served the Girl Scouts of Manitou Council
during the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouting. Thank you for the opportunity and
for your support.
