CONDITIONS OF SALE
1. Advance bids in the mail or over the phone must be accompanied by a check for the full amount of the bid, or a valid Visa, Mastercard or
American Express.
2. TERMS: Cash; checks are considered cash provided the buyer is accredited with the auctioneers or with proper identification, valid Visa,
Mastercard or American Express.
3. All sales are final. Merchandise becomes the bidder’s property when the hammer falls and the auctioneer calls the bidder’s number.
4. While Northgate Gallery has endeavored to catalogue and describe the property correctly, all property is sold “as is” and neither Northgate Gallery nor its consignor will be responsible for the description, genuineness, provenance, or condition of the property. No statement
contained in the catalogue or made orally at the sale or elsewhere shall be deemed to be such a warranty or representation or an assumption
of liability. Purchasers should satisfy themselves as to the condition, quality, and description before bidding.
5. Northgate Gallery reserves the right to withdraw any item at any time before the sale.
6. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the purchaser. In the event of any dispute between bidders, the auctioneer
shall have absolute discretion either to determine the successful bidder, in which event his determination shall be final, or to re-offer and resell the article in dispute. If any dispute arises after the sale, Northgate Gallery’s sale record shall be conclusive as to who was the purchaser,
the amount of the highest bid, and in all other respects.
7. If the auctioneer, in his sole and final discretion, decides that any original bid is not commensurate with the value of the article offered,
or, having acknowledged an original bid, that any advance thereafter is not sufficient amount, he may reject the same.
8. Buyers must remove items purchased. Northgate Gallery will be happy to assist buyers in arranging the delivery or shipping of purchases
at the buyer’s expense. Purchases must be removed within one week following the sale.
9. A 10% buyer’s premium will be added as part of the purchase price.

Northgate Gallery brings you an incredible array of estate merchandise and
consignments for our Spring Auction Extravaganza on May 17, 2014. Highlighting this
auction is the collection of the late John Mauk Kennerly of Knoxville, TN. John
conducted development for many years at the Oak Ridge K-25 plant and later worked at
the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. After retirement in 1997 John served on the
Technical Advisory Board for the Department of Energy.
Proudly having been chosen by the executor of the estate of the late John Mauk
Kennerly, Northgate Gallery is featuring at public auction his incredible array of rare and
select furniture, collectibles, objects of art, clocks, paintings, sterling silver and jewelry
ever to be seen on the market place to date!
Over a 40 year span, John amassed a fantastic variety of treasures! His incredible
collection of clocks includes a rare Timby’s Solar Timepiece and an 18th century Boulle
bracket clock. The furniture collection includes a fine English chinoiserie decorated
bureau bookcase, an 18th century English walnut chest on chest and an 18th century
American cherry “High Daddy” chest. The painting collection includes a landscape
painting of the Little River running through the Smokey Mountains by “Krutch”. Among
the collectibles is a fine “Stella” music box, a Kawai parlour grand piano, many
exceptional bronze sculptures, and an array of choice Persian rugs.
Needless to say John’s love of jewelry presents a vast variety of watches, rings, gold
coin jewelry, and exceptional Indian silver pendants as well as bracelets.
Combining other consignments and estate jewelry, a gorgeous gemstone will amaze you.
A late entry of a 6.80 ctw. intense fancy yellow cushion cut diamond ring is
