Newton running starts with good posture, an athletic position and continues with an efficient cadence of 170 to 190 steps/minute. Done properly, running feels easier and your feet seem at one with the ground. You are making better use of the proper running muscles and the elastic component of running. The end result is a run that feels more efficient, intuitive, relaxed, natural and less stressful. Juda will talk about how you can improve your running form by taking you through some drills which create body awareness and improve mechanics. Newton demo shoes will be on hand to try out before, during or after the clinic. 2013 Marathon Art Poster - Marcia Cline Artist 2013 Marcia Cline - Visit our Art Booth at the Expo! Local Artist Marcia Cline is the chosen artist for the 2013 Marathon painting. Visit the Art Booth at the EXPO to see the beautiful original painting and to purchase a signed & numbered print. Marcias painting this year conveys the beauty of the course and one of the challenges that each runner will overcome on their way to the Finish Line. Marcia Cline’s work is vibrant, using bold fluid oils depicting subjects from tropical themes to local Outer Banks Cottages, each painting seeks to engage the viewer within it. People say Cline’s work “makes them feel happy”, and that’s actually her intent. Born in Maryland, 1961 Marcia has always created. She studied art extensively throughout her school years. Marcia attended University of North Carolina, Wilmington where she studied Fine Art emphasizing oil painting and printmaking. She moved to the Outer Banks in 1981 and since then has been a local artist of some renown. Nature is her biggest inspiration and en plein air is her favorite expression.
