Think of Team AACD—volunteer leaders and staff—as your powerful ally. Your friend.
As your friend, we work to anticipate your needs and provide solutions.
Recently, we began to informally survey new members. You told us you need three things:
1. More cosmetic dentistry education and enhanced clinical skills
2. Increased case acceptance and improvement in case presentation
3. More patients
The good news is that AACD already has tools to support you in each of these three areas. The better
news is, with this data, we can work to provide you with even more tools.
1) Cosmetic Dentistry Education
Clinical education has been central to the AACD since our
founding 31 years ago. And it remains our core offering.

amazing education in an innovative and energizing way.

The Power of A Gold Award
T
he American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry
Charitable Foundation’s Give Back a Smile (GBAS)
program was recently awarded a 2015 Power of A Gold
Award by the American Society of Association Executives
(ASAE). Power of A Awards showcase how associations
leverage their unique resources to solve problems, advance
industry/professional performance, kick start innovation, and
improve world conditions. This year, GBAS was one of thirty
programs selected for a Gold Award from 140 entries.
GBAS applied for an award in the Power to Make a Better
World category, since GBAS works to heal some of the
most devastating effects of domestic and sexual violence by
restoring the smiles of these survivors through compassionate
cosmetic dental services and support programs.
The American Academy of Cosmetic Density Charitable
Foundation (AACDCF) launched the Give Back a Smile
program May 27, 1999, and since the program’s 1999
inception, AACD members have volunteered their time and
expertise pro bono to restore the damaged smiles of more
than 1,400 survivors of domestic violence. Just recently,
the total dollar value of GBAS donated services since the
program’s inception reached the $15 million mark! Just
last year, 68 member dentists located in 20 different states
completed smile restorations valuing more than $800,000,
at no cost to qualifying applicants.
The AACDCF is thrilled the GBAS program is being
recognized with a Power of A Award for the life changing
work it is doing in the lives of domestic and sexual violence
survivors. And the results really are life changing. One GBAS
recipient described it best, “It’s hard to put into words how
much this opportunity has changed my life. Even after
completion of my new smile, it took time to realize that I no
longer needed to place my hand in front of my mouth when
speaking or laughing. I am so thankful. Not only did these
people give me back my smile, but they also gave me back
my life.”

help you break into those top 11 listings. If you want to

to The Review Solution Pro, which allows you to collect
patient reviews at the point of service. These reviews can
then be posted to your profile page and other important
sites such as Google+, Yelp, Healthgrades, Vitals, and
