Lamy has won more international
design awards than any other writing
instrument brand. The innovative stylistic expression of all Lamy products
provides a clear and constant statement of faith in a modern approach.
Each design is developed consistently on the basis of the highest degree
of functionality.
To ensure that these high standards
are maintained, Lamy constantly
pursues technical innovations which
further increase the utility value of

manufacture, from development to

which, along with product design,

Design Prize of the Federal Republic
of Germany
This prize is regarded as the Oscar
among the design awards in Germany.
The LAMY noto won the prestigious
accolade in 2010 in the Product Design
category.
Lamy previously received this design
award in 1996 (LAMY spirit) and 2004
(LAMY pico).
red dot award
The red dot award is the internationally well-known design competition
organised by the Design Centre of
North Rhine-Westphalia. It is awarded
for products with outstanding design
quality. Lamy has already received this
red dot award five times. The last time
in 2013 for LAMY 2000 metal.
iF product design award
The Industrie Forum Design e. V. has
been holding the iF Award design
competition since 1954.
The competition is among the biggest
and most well known in the world.
Lamy has won numerous prizes in
the Product Design category – most
recently in the year 2012 for the
LAMY econ.
Good Design Award
For nearly 60 years the Good Design
Award has been presented annually
in Chicago for particularly innovative
and design-oriented products.
With nine Good Design Awards to
its credit Lamy is out in front among
the writing instrument brands.

LAMY dialog 1
The LAMY dialog 1 shows just
how extraordinary a ballpoint pen
can look when one of the best
designers of our times gets to grips
with it. Developed and designed in
collaboration with Lamy by Richard
Sapper, the creator of classics like
the Tizio lamp, the Alessi espresso
machine and the IBM Thinkpad
laptop, it boasts a distinctive triangular shape with rounded edges.

LAMY dialog 2
The LAMY dialog 2 capless ink
rollerball with innovative twistaction mechanism was designed
by Danish architect and designer
Knud Holscher and developed in
conjunction with Lamy, and features a timeless, formally rigorous
design combined with innovative
technology. Its ingenious rotating
mechanism sinks the clip before
writing, and rolls it out again once
you’ve finished.
Since the nib of its large-volume
refill extends and retracts, the
LAMY dialog 2 has no lid, and
yet writes precisely and smoothly
every time. Made completely from
metal, with a palladium finish.

On the LAMY dialog 3 both the
nib and the clip are retractable.
With its innovative twist-action
mechanism, this premium fountain
pen is the first of its kind. By turning
the barrel, the nib slides elegantly
out from inside the pen as the clip
recedes onto the body. When the
pen is turned to close, the retracted nib is protected from dirt and
drying out by a ball valve.

At first sight the LAMY econ
demonstrates pure functionality
and cool high-tech aesthetic
appeal with its cylindrical, matt
sandblasted stainless-steel body.
But a closer look reveals that it is
not lacking original design details
that – even with all the formal restraint and practicality – lend it an
unmistakable product personality.
With a strikingly curved clip and
an innovative grip zone, which is
reminiscent of the controls on an
expensive hi-fi system, for instance.
