For the fisrt time in the history of Myanmar, the governement has
provided 6 texts books per child in each schools
In the past, Malay has already conducted the following works: Wood
panels separating class levels, some part of the fences around the
facade and school material (all has been donated by AClem Foundation)
Current needs of this school : Toilets renovation, additional texts books,
Buddha meditation place, safe fences, facade painting.
Tauungyi City Orphenage

180 students from 4 to 16 y.o. / 5 teachers. 5 monks (including Head Monk), 14 Novis
●
Monastery education (Birmese, English, Maths, Geography, Sciences, Biology, Sports)
●
The Head Monk decides about orphans integration in the orphanage
●
●
The Head Monk supports university studies and then when students become workers
they will support back the orphenage
Prime Minister of Shan State will support the construction of new classrooms and the
new vocational centre (new buidling in project – cost : U$ 175'000.-)
●
Next summer children will be provided with a few computers
●
Daily operating costs of the orphanage : U$150.- (food, firewood, water, hospital)
●
Children get three meals per day (rice, vegetabes, curry, dry fish, noodle, sancks)
●
●
In the past, Malay has already conducted the following works: school material, rice,
matresses, mosquito nets, blankets (donated by Aclem foundation)
Current needs of this school : Wages, rice, school uniforms (2 pieces per kid = U$7 one
uniform), white board, pens, cleaning lady and definitely toilets/showers renovation.
Tauungyi Mountain « Ayeamyit « Orphanage
●
60 students from 4 to 13 y.o. / 5 teachers. 4 monks, 10 Novis, 1 cook, local volunteers
●
PAO Tribes. The orphanage and property belongs to the Head Monk.
●
●
●
●
●
The property is important, 5 buildings are in good state (the kitchen has just been
renovated and financed by another ponctual donator) although the inside is missing it
all. (no matresses, no mosquito net, no furniture, no dcoration very few classroom
material, etc). The general atmosphere is cold and sad although children look happy.
Not enough water access directly on sight (remoted location). Kids have left the place.
The Head Monk has sold his other property and bought this place 12 years ago. He
has given priority to the structure development and dismissed the costing that this would
incur for a good operating system. He has welcome 115 orphans at the time but had to
lower the number to 60 due to funds. The temple has a small guesthouse facility.
In the past, Malay has conducted the following works: Rice, blankets, a few matresses
and plastic boxes.
Current needs: Water (Tank), Inside facilities (matresses, mosquito nets, blankets, towels,
furniture, school material). Wages and new teachers & house mistress, food variety,
washing machines and eventually road renovation. Health check-up for the kids.

- Tourists tours, contribution to the projects as a authentic journey in Shan State
- Current works : Foundation stage
- Total cost of the project : To be confirmed by Malay
General Needs and Objectives (budgets & works in progress)

Primary School Inle Lake: School material, toilets renovation, safe fences & Buddha meditation
Tauungyi City Orphanage : Wages of teachers, Toilets and bathroom facilities, boarding facilities (a few
additional matresses, blankets, mosquito nets), school material, uniforms, food and firewood.
Tauungyi Mountain « Ayeamyit » Orphanage : 5-10 years project
Main development will be focused on this project as there are urgent needs and it seems a fantastic
opportunity to develop a substinable and qualitative project linked to Malay guest house, a chance for the
kids to spend days at school on the Inle Lake and maybe crossing activities with Tauungyi city orphanage
(sports, events, etc). Water (Tank), food variety, boarding facilities (matresses, blankets, mosquito nets) and
uniforms. Classrooms will receive cleaning, structure and refurbishment (desks and chairs are there but all
needs to be refraished). The property being immense, we wish to develop a garden (with chicken), a small
farm with vegetable cultures. One of the building will be provided to abandonned elderies. The bridge
between children and elderies could be a fantastic opportunity for the whole orphanage to find a happier
and enjoyable way of living, learning a sharing.
We would like to hire a Head Mistress to take care of the order and discipline ; Malay would be
coordinating and following up the complete development of the project. The link with her guest house could
be another way to receive donations and provide the children with the best education as possible.
●
A total amount of U$ 8'300.- has been provided to respond to priorities (breakdown to be communicated)
●
Another amount of U$ 5'000.- will be provided in the next weeks according to pace of the projects.
