Kia Carens
Structurally, the Carens is
built on a new platform
derived from the C’eed
platform with a 50mm
extended wheel base,
although the vehicle is
shorter, narrower and lower
than the predecessor.
UHSS has been used for
the sill reinforcements and
‘A’ and ‘B’ posts, with HSS
being used for the front
structure that enables
multiple frontal load paths.
There is a HSS ring structure
around the tailgate.
Technology :
The multi-link rear suspension of the
predecessor has been replaced by a torsion
beam rear axle for better rear load/floor
space packaging.
The Carens features 6 SRS airbags (driver
and front passenger, side, and curtain),
ESC, Vehicle Stability Management and
ABS. Brake Assist System is also standard
on all, applying maximum brake force when
emergency braking is detected.
Front (daytime run lights) and rear LED
lights feature, as do Xenon headlamps.

Trim levels : 1, 2, 3
All models, including the ‘1’ trim level, have
seven seats, LED daytime run lights, air
conditioning, cruise control and remote
central locking
The ‘2’ and ‘3’ trim levels both have chrome
exterior door handles, electric folding door
mirrors and roof rails. Both also have a high
gloss black grille mesh.
‘1’ trim level has 16” steel wheels and body
coloured exterior door handles as standard.
Options include heated and air-cooled
leather front seats and heated rear seats.
‘2’ trim level is recognisable by the 16”
5-spoke alloy wheels, front fog lamps,
chrome window trims, parking sensors and
roof rails. It also features automatic lights
and wipers, and dual-zone air conditioning.
There are 17” and 18” alloy wheels available.
‘3’ trim level has 17” 10-spoke alloy wheels
and a panoramic sunroof. The interior
features leather upholstery (black, except
for Powder Blue body colour that has beige
leather) and heated front seats. The ‘3’ also
features a reversing camera to supplement
the park sensors.
