CAI’S GOLF TOURNAMENT
A SUCCESS
Southeast Florida Chapter raised over $25,000 to fund educational and outreach programs for community association residents in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties
Under the able direction of Committee Chair Mike Bender, the
Southeast Florida Chapter of Community Associations Institute
(CAI) held its 3rd Annual Golf Tournament at Bonaventure Country Club in Weston, Florida on Friday, November 7, 2008. Over
100 golfers participated in the shot-gun style tournament and
awards ceremony held at the Bonaventure Country Club. Roofing Analytics, LLC. was the title sponsor. Other major sponsors
included CSI Associates, Smart Street, CSI Management Services
and Thyssen Krupp.
Proceeds from the tournament will fund CAI’s education programs for community association leaders and residents in
Broward and Miami-Dade Counties, including courses regarding
condominium and homeowner association operations, financial
management and accounting principles, building and grounds
maintenance, upgrades and retrofit requirements for life and fire
safety code compliance and energy conservation/waste reduction efforts.

Thousands of Florida residents participated in educational programs offered by CAI over the past few years. Lisa Magill, Esq.,
the Chapter’s President said “CAI looks forward to expanding
its educational programs to facilitate relationships between
board members and the residents of these communities. We
have found that a lot of the strife between and discontent
among community leaders and residents results from a lack of
knowledge of the rights and responsibilities associated with
community living.”
Some of the proceeds from the tournament will fund a full day
of educational programming and trade show on January 24,
2009 at the Signature Grand in Davie, Florida. CAI-SEFL gave
out awards for the first, second and third place winners as well
as the coveted “Should have Gone Fishing” award. CAI-SEFL
also raffled off grand prizes consisting of a hi-def flat screen television and Wii System with Tiger Woods PGA Golf Software!
