Thank you to our supporters Classic Car Show A Classic Car Show was held on June 11 at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital’s Professional Center at Members Way near the Spaulding Exit 9. Mystery Dinner raises over $7,000 The show was held in conjunction with the TSC Classic Car Club. Even though it rained for the better part of the day the event raised $330 to support WDH’s Community Assistance Programs, which includes the Dental Center, Care-Vans and Medication Bridge programs. Attendees also enjoyed music and food provided by Fat Boys Concessions. A “Best In Show” trophy was presented to Michael Demetrio for his red Thunderbird. Trophies were also presented for first, second, and third choice, Car Club choice and Foundation Choice. This year an Honorable Mention went to Melissa Milanopolous for her Chalkboard Purple Scion. A big thank you goes out to all of the volunteers for the event - Valerie Milot, Terri Hilterman, Jason Hartnett, Julie Dickson, Rose O’Hare and Susan Houghton. Thank you for your support of our Second Annual Classic Car Show. The Byrne Foundation Donates $5000 to support the Wentworth-Douglass Community Dental Center The Wentworth-Douglass Community Dental Center was awarded a $5000 grant in June 2011 by The Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation. Based in Etna, NH, The Byrne Foundation has been a long-time supporter of the Community Dental Center. Since 2006, The Byrne Foundation has contributed $14,000 to help provide dental services to those who would otherwise not be able to afford oral healthcare. The Byrne Foundation’s generous contribution will be used to purchase replacement dental instruments to keep the Center’s equipment up to the highest standards. The Wentworth-Douglass Dental Center opened in 2005 to provide routine and emergency oral healthcare to low-income, uninsured, underinsured and underserved members of our community. With the help of generous donors such as The Byrne Foundation, the Dental Center has served nearly 6,000 patients. The Hospital subsidizes the Dental Center by approximately $500,000 annually. This philanthropic partnership with The Byrne Foundation is essential to the Center’s ability to care for the underserved. The Community Dental Center is an important part of how WentworthDouglass Hospital achieves its mission of partnering with individuals and their families to attain their highest level of health. The entire Dental Center staff is committed to delivering the best oral healthcare to all patients. Thank you to The Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation for joining the individuals, businesses and foundations that make the Dental Center possible.
