The country achieving greater prosperity and sustainability through energy efficiency Facilitate the management of Energy Efficiency in all sectors of the economy including transport, buildings, industry and services, as well as in households. Foster a culture of Energy Efficiency through awareness, capacity-building and support of initiatives. IV and Std. V students of primary schools; (ii) Energy Efficiency Essay Competition 4 , aimed at Form IV and Form V college students; and (iii) Energy Efficiency Project Competition 4 , aimed at Lower Six college students. MAIN ACTIVITIES 2015 A design guideline shall also be prepared for retrofitting of existing street and public area lighting systems. The design guideline shall also cover the use of solar systems for street/public area lighting. (ii) Technical Support to EEMO Develop a baseline on energy efficiency in the building sector Develop a methodology to measure and monitor evolution of energy efficiency with respect to this baseline MAIN ACTIVITIES 2015 Develop minimum energy performance standards for up to 7 regulated products (refrigerators, electric oven, dish washer, airconditioner, tumble dryer, electric lamps, washing machine) based on an analysis of affordability to the general public, cost-benefit and savings (financial and energy) for the country. (iii) Energy Audit Management and Energy Building Code Compliance scheme Develop a baseline for Energy Audit Management MAIN ACTIVITIES 2015 Upgrade and customize an existing Energy Audit Software Tool (MBEAT) for energy auditing purposes and develop a macro-based Excel software tool for energy auditing purposes Training and Certification of Energy Auditors (iv) Energy Efficiency Information Management System (EEIMS) Development and implementation of a web-based EEIMS with online services MAIN ACTIVITIES 2015 Application software for web-based EEIMS Online services – filling and submission of online application forms Online Training Energy labelling of tyres Implementation of ISO 9001 at the EEMO Office Minimum Energy Performance Standards of electrical appliances FORTHCOMING ACTIVITIES Mandatory Energy Efficiency Labelling on additional electrical appliances: (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) Household room air conditioners Household washing machines Household electric lamps Household tumble dryers BE AN ENERGY CHAMPION eemo.govmu.org
