HOW TO USE THIS GUIDE
The Slice of History portion of the guide (Disc 1, Tracks 1-8 /
30 minutes) will fill gaps in your knowledge, to enhance your
appreciation of what you’ll see in the Stanza della Segnatura.
Enjoy it before arriving at the Vatican Museums … before leaving
home, on the plane, or over a coffee or a glass of wine in Rome.
Once you’ve arrived at the Stanza della Segnatura, you’ll find the
on-site guide beginning on Disc 1/Track 9. By the end of Disc
1, you will have had an overview of the room and taken a close
look at the ceiling and the South Wall. Disc 2 covers the other three walls of the
room. If you choose to skip the extended discussion of the School of Athens on
Disc 2/Track 5, your on-site tour will last one hour.
This booklet includes thumbnail images keyed to the track list to allow a virtual
tour. Before or after your visit, you will be able to look while listening to the
on-site guide. The Justice frescoes on the South Wall are shown on the rear panel
of the booklet, while the others are inside, with the track list.
