Tourism conveniently located on US Highway 25E between Morristown and Newport in Eastern Jefferson County. The town is included in the Morristown, Tennessee MSA and is also a service enter for the per‐
manent residents in the resort community of Baneberry (pop. 482) which lies on Douglas Lake four miles from White Pine. White Pine is less than three miles from Exits 4 and 8 on Interstate 81, and is only five miles from Interstate 40 via TN 113. Located in White Pine just off Interstate 81 Exit 8, The Smoky Mountain Expo Center and Equestrian Complex attracts tens of thousands of people to the area each year. The 98,000 square foot main arena seats more than 4,000 people and plays host to more than 60 events annually, including horse and livestock shows, BMX racing, boat and RV shows, concerts, high school and college graduation ceremonies and rodeos. In the resort community of Baneberry, the Baneberry Golf and Resort features an 18‐hole golf course, multiple accommodation offerings, a full service restaurant and lounge, an Olympic sized swimming pool, and six hard surfaced tennis courts. White Pine is home to Jefferson County’s largest White Pine’s major retail is situated around two interstate exits, employer, Old Dominion Freight Line, which employs Exit 4 and Exit 8 of I‐81. Around Exit 4 there is a Dunkin Donuts, approximately 890 people at their inter‐regional service Wendy’s, McDonald’s, Pilot Travel Center, Days Inn, and a center hub off I‐91, Exit 4. Another major employer in Wilco truck stop. White Pine is Clayton Homes which employs On the north side of Exit 8, in Morristown, there are three approximately 140 people in the construction of lodging establishments, the Best Western PLUS/Morristown manufactured housing. Convention Center, a Super 8 Motel, and the Parkway Inn. Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores, and a Hardees are also located at the exit. Traffic Food City, Family Dollar, Dollar General, Sonic and Subway are VPD= Vehicles per Day, TDOT 2010 the primary national retailers located along US 25E in the 49,317 VPD I‐81, Exit 4 downtown White Pine area. Two outparcels remain available for 5,565 VPD TN 113 sale in the Food City/Family Dollar development.
