Peggy contacted Julie Czerneda about travel arrangements. Jay
contacted Julie at Chattacon.
We will have the meet and greet on Thursday before the
convention.
We will have the picnic. Peggy will get the hamburgers and hot
dogs. Juan will get the ice and ask Susan if he can borrow the
tubs.
We need to update the guest section on the remaining guests.
Juan needs to talk to Jarrod Cooper and Paul Bradford.
We briefly discussed the types of MP3 recorders and how to
handle fleas on pets.
Juan will find out sharing the hotel with that weekend. Juan is
considering inviting anime group to the con.
We considered books for March. We decided to read A
Thousand Words for Stanger by J ulie Czerneda.

Juan will email will get a feel of how many of con staff are
interested in the Brazilian restaurant for the GOH meet and greet
dinner.
We discussed books for the picnic and charity auction.

Tom all of his pictures on his laptop.
Ken won the raffle a Totoro puzzle. He gave it to Arthur.
We discussed the works of Vonda McIntyre, one of the guest sof
honor at this years Worldcon. Juan talked about The Moon and
Sun. It is about a F rench brother and sister who find a
mermaid. The mermaid will be give to Louis XIV to be eaten
because this will make him immortal. The sister realizes the
mermaid is sentient and tries to free it. Kim talked about
Dreamsnake. It was about a healer who used snakes to heal
people. The time it took place was ambiguous. Juan said it took
place after a nuclear war. Kim remembered some references in
the book that implied a nuclear war. She enjoyed the book. Juan
discussed the Star Trek novels by McIntyre . She gave Sulu a
first name in the novel The Entropy Effect. It would be official in
Star Trek VI. J uan also commented that she added details to
her novelizations of Star Trek II, III and IV notably a
relationship with David Marcus and Saavik.

The Lord of the Rings trilogy of movies was marvelous fun, a
great adventure, and a great tale well told. I wish The Hobbit
movie trilogy had been the same. I never saw the last two movies

of the three, and I don't care to. I always go back to the book,
anyway.
My letter...our next convention is Ad Astra 2015 north of
Toronto. We hope to have some spring by that time. In a few
days is the attempt to get tables at two major conventions in our
area, so wish us luck.
I always enjoy the photos of costumes and cosplayers in this
zine. It's great to see such creativity, and it's visible right in front
of you. (I admit I am biased...Yvonne and I used compete in
Worldcon masquerades as far back as the early 80s.)
All for now...I was going to say stay warm, but your part of
Florida has been the only warm part of the entire continent this
winter. See you with the next issue.

He was great in other roles. In the remake of The Outer Limits
episode "I, Robot" (based on a short story by Otto Binder), he
played the lead role of a lawyer defending a robot accused of
