and President
In life, change is inevitable.
In business, change is vital.
During 2007, and throughout
our 33 years, DARTS welcomed the challenges of change. Each and
every day we assist families as they experience changes and transitions
in their lives, and they look to DARTS for help and solutions. We are
very proud of this work, and you can see some accomplishments in our
“2007 At a Glance” on page 5.
You’ll also see some changes in our look that reflect a very deliberate
and exciting awareness-building process that has captured the best of
what we do and the values we embrace. In 2007, we completed a
strategic positioning plan to ensure we can prepare for the boomer age
wave and the generations that follow. We will tackle this challenge with
our greatest resource: a professional staff with a caring and thoughtful
approach to every person we serve and every connection we make.
Vital changes have been embraced by our DARTS Board and staff alike
because our history will be preserved in our future work. We will
continue to collaborate with others in making a real difference in the
lives of older adults, the families that support them, and the community
in which they live. We will continue to create meaningful possibilities
through our volunteers, young and old, as they give back and build
community with their passion to help others.
As you turn these pages, you’ll see the many individuals, organizations,
and businesses that entrust their resources to us to ensure we can
continue to do high-quality work, respond to changing needs, find
creative solutions to unique problems, and make life-changing
connections for all generations.
We have had an exciting year, and we are positioned to face the

DARTS helps older adults maintain the
independence they choose, and we
help those who care for them. Some
1,000 family caregivers connect with
our respite, support groups, and
eldercare education offerings.

DARTS ride schedulers and bus
drivers serve several hundred riders
every day. What riders remember
is the friendly voice and smile and
helping hand.

MOBILITY OPTIONS.
DARTS’ information and assistance
specialist answers nearly 3,000 calls
in a year. What callers remember is
the patient and caring voice and the
helpful, straightforward answers.
