Dear Members and Friends,
I want to thank those who were able to join us last month at Skanska’s office in Oakland.
Our guest speaker Robert Leslie put on a very interesting presentation about the in’s and
out’s of differing site conditions.
This month we want to invite you to tour the San Francisco General Hospital being built by the City of San Francisco,
Project Managed by Jacobs Engineering and Constructed by Webcor Builders. Thanks to Jim Hall, Project Director
with Jacobs, our host, will show us the exciting new project in the heart of the Mission District. I’ve known and
worked with Jim Hall for a long time when I was with Jacobs. Jim brings many construction and social skills to the
table that makes him a leader in the industry. We are pleased to be able to tour this exciting new facility that will
replace the existing SFG hospital. Don’t hesitate to sign up when the Evite comes out, for the tour is strictly limited
to a small group.
We are constantly looking for new topics to present on and new projects to tour. We welcome your suggestions and
requests for either. I am also looking to hear from those of you who have not participated in our meetings in a long
time. What will it take to get you to our gatherings? Is it location, topics cost, time or all of the above? I can’t read
your minds, so please drop me a line so we can try to accommodate you and better serve our members.
