Nina`s semi precious set
Nina’s Semi Precious Set Nina has made two disctinct sets here by using the toggle fasteners as the unifying elements to bring the pieces together - the soft round fastener gives the first set an informal feel and the second set feels much more dressy - perfect for a special night out. In fact either of the bracelet designs go beautifully with either of the necklace designs - for maximum flexibility why not use the same style fastener on all of the pieces so that you can mix and match however the mood takes you? Finish the bead sequence by threading on 4A and finish the end of the Soft Flex with another French crimp and loop. Complete the bracelet by attaching one of the Bali-style clasps with oval jump rings. To Make the Necklace The necklace is made of three strands of beads simply plaited together.. Strand one: Cut 60cm Soft Flex. Finish one end with a loop and French crimp. Thread on 45cm A beads and finish the end of the Soft Flex with another French crimp and loop. Strand two: Cut 60cm Soft Flex. Finish one end with a loop and French crimp. Thread on 45cm B beads and finish the end of the Soft Flex with another French crimp and loop. Strand three: This strand is made up of feature beads interspersed with 1.3cm lengths of mixed A and B beads, Nina has picked her beads at random, you may prefer to do a regular repeat of, eg 1A, 1B or 2A, 1B. These short stretches of seed beads are each followed by feature beads - 8E, 7C, 5G and 4D beads are spaced out along this length. Cut 60cm Soft Flex. Finish one end with a loop and French crimp. Thread on 1.3cm mixed beads, then a feature bead. Repeat along the length until all the feature beads have been used up finishing with 1.3cm mixed seed beads. Finish the end of the Soft Flex with another French crimp and loop. Cover all the French crimps used with crimp covers. Open an oval jump ring and slip one end of each of the three strands into it. Loosely plait the strands along the length and bring them together at the other end with another oval jump ring. Finally use two more oval jump rings to attach a Bali-style toggle fastener to complete the design. www.spellboundbead.co.uk © The Spellbound Bead Co 2011 Hot Summer Nights Set To Make the Earrings Onto a headpin thread 3B, 1E, 2B, 1E, 3B. To Make the Bracelet The bracelet is made up of three strands which have been plaited together. The feature beads are quite close together along the length so that when the bracelet is complete the heavy beading holds the plait firmly in place - it looks as if it has been woven.
