Methamphetamine Suicide Prevention Initiative (MSPI) National Social Marketing Campaign “Two Roads One Path” “Thizz has no Biz with Natives” Why did your community select this slogan? Why is it important? Our youth community chose “Two Roads One Path” to signify choices that youth can make when it comes to using Meth, Thizz, Alcohol and other drugs. The “One Path” is the choice you make and what it could lead to. Thizz is a new drug that the youth have been exposed to in the past year. It is a pilll that has many attractive names such as Superman, princess, pink panther and other youth directed titles. Thizz can contain a multiple number of different drugs including Meth, Heroin, LSD, & esctasy and can be very addicting. Out community youth need to be aware of this pill and our youth have been committed to say “Thizz has no biz with Natives” and there is no room for this drug in our community. ► http://webmail.ncuih.org/exchweb/bin/r edir.asp?URL=http://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=LEly7YK8OI%26feature=email Describe the visual image that your community selected and how does the visual image relate to your slogan? ► The video starts off with two roads and what each path can lead to. When a youth chooses the first path it leads them to drugs/alcohol and to a life of dishonoring culture and tradition. A young man stands on the outside looking in under the influence and holding alcohol in hand. The 2nd path is the right choice that leads to rich tradition, culture, and knowledge. Youth share their views of drugs and are proud to say their tribes. The video continues with images of youth that have chosen a Meth and drug Free Life! Describe the process the community took to develop this application. The youth group was delivered the campaign details and decided they wanted to create a short video and message. The teen youth came up with the idea about two roads and that one would lead to drugs and the other would lead to a drug free life full of culture. Their idea was to show the results of each path. The younger youth decided they wanted to film each other saying their tribe and what they thoughts about drugs. Each of the youth decided on their roles, some filmed, held scripts, drummed, took photo’s and they call encouraged each other to contribute to the project. The teen youth talked a lot about thizz and wanted to continue delivering their message. ►
