______________ COLORED A DUCK AND F ED A CHILD.

Dear Parents or Guardians:
As you know, childhood hunger is a reality and it exists in our own neighborhoods. Nearly 100,000 children living in
the twenty counties served by the Freestore Foodbank are food insecure, meaning they aren’t always sure where they
will get their next meal. Every dollar donated to the Freestore Foodbank helps to provide three meals to children and
families in need within our Tri-State area. We know that children receiving a proper diet perform better on tests and
are on time and in attendance at school more frequently. We can all make a difference in the fight against childhood
hunger within the Cincinnati community … even the youngest amongst us.
We’d like to introduce you to Quacky’s Club, an opportunity for your child to be part of the fight against childhood
hunger. This annual program, presented by TriHealth, gives the next generation in our community an opportunity to
become involved and to make a difference in the fight against childhood hunger.
To join, simply help your child color one of our little rubber ducks attached (additional copies are available at all
TriHealth locations or on line at QuackysClub.org). When you complete and submit the special Quacky’s Club
enrollment form with the duck colored by your child, they will be entered into Quacky’s Club and receive a letter
from Quacky as well as a button for them to wear around town. Their artwork could also be among the artwork
displayed on social media by Freestore Foodbank and TriHealth and could possibly be shown on Local 12 news by
Bob Herzog. By mailing in one $5.00 duck purchase with your child’s colored duck, your child will be able
to provide 15 meals for children and families in the Tri-State area who are struggling with hunger. Your
child’s duck will join the rest of the 200,000 ducks that will swim in the Ohio River near the Serpentine Wall on
September 4 at 3 pm for the 22nd Annual Rubber Duck Regatta. Following the Rubber Duck Regatta, TriHealth will
make a donation to the Freestore Foodbank on behalf of children such as your own, who participated in Quacky’s
Club. Finally, your child will continue to receive updates from Quacky during the coming year.
Thank you for joining us in Quacky’s Club, and for teaching your child that together, all of us can Feed A Child.
