Your unit’s trip to Winterfest will likely be the highpoint of the year for your
youth. Be sure to plan well enough in advance so you can fully enjoy it. Book your
rooms early, as the official Winterfest hotels will fill quickly.
Included in this packet is information on each of the hotels that we have
negotiated a discounted rate with. These are special discounted rates for
Winterfest 2017. When calling to make a reservation with the hotel you choose,
you must specify that you are attending Boy Scouts of America 2017
Winterfest Convention and ask for the special Winterfest Rate for your Post,
Crew, Ship, or Troop.
Information on each hotel can be found in this guide and you can book directly
from it. For more information on the hotel, please visit their website or contact

Tennessee Sales Tax
Note that only organizations classified as “501(c)3” by the IRS are able to get
Tennessee Tax Exempt Certificates. If your unit is classified as such, you can
follow the steps below to acquire a tax exempt certificate for Tennessee.

Steps:
1. Go to this Website: http://www.tn.gov/revenue/article/forms-sales-and-usetax
2. Click on “Application for Sales and Use Tax Exempt Entities or State and
Federally Chartered Credit Unions” under Exemptions.
3. Print the one-page application and one-page instruction sheet.
4. Fill out the application and mail it to the address listed on the instruction
sheet.
5. Allow six weeks for processing.
6. Any questions call the Tennessee Revenue Office at 615-253-0600.
7. Again, only organizations classified as “501(c)3” by the IRS are able to get
Tennessee Tax Exempt Certificates.
