Host your rehearsal dinner at our one-of-a-kind venue.
Located in White River State Park, the museum
offers a unique venue with incredible architecture
and beautiful views. We have a variety of spaces,
ranging from the re-created L.S. Ayres Tea Room
to the dramatic Governor Frank O’Bannon
Great Hall with its soaring 100-foot ceiling and
spectacular views of the Canal and Military Park.

Our professional event planners will provide
you with the expertise and customer service you
need to ensure that your event runs smoothly.
Additionally, culinary experts from Kahn’s
Catering, the museum’s exclusive caterer, provide
menu planning for all types of events. From the
planning to execution, our goal is to make your
event as memorable as you’d dreamed it would be.

fees, including historical characters and special
programs.

6. Many photo opportunities available in and
outside of the museum.
DETAILS
> To book your event, a 50% facility rental deposit
is required along with a signed contract. A check,
American Express, MasterCard or Visa are
accepted forms of payment.
> Your booking is confirmed upon receiving both
signed agreements and deposits for the Indiana
State Museum and Kahn’s Catering.
> We offer 5 hour rentals beginning no earlier
than 5:30 p.m.
> To extend the time at the end of your event,
the fee is $400 per hour.
> Parking is available in the White River State Park
Garage. Day of the event parking is a discounted
rate if your guests pay on their own with a voucher.
If you wish to cover your guests’ parking, you will be
billed after the event.
> Housekeeping and security included
> A certificate of insurance is required for all rental
events at the Indiana State Museum.
> The ISMHS at times could be considered under
structural or cosmetic construction. Structural
and/or cosmetic changes to the Facility and its
grounds include but are not limited to gallery
closures, improvements to landscape, installation
of art, etc. In the best efforts of the Facility,
plans will be communicated as early as possible
to the Client.
> Lighting and A/V equip for added fee.
> Museum exhibits may be included for an
additional fee.

GOVERNOR FRANK & JUDY O’BANNON
GREAT HALLAND BALL FAMILY TERRACE
The iconic INDIANA obelisk graces the center of the Great Hall, lending elegance and unmistakable Hoosier
presence to your event. With the canal flowing outside and the breathtaking architecture indoors, this is the
ideal space for a memorable reception. The adjacent Ball Family Terrace is included in rental of the Great
Hall and is a good option for cocktail hour. It provides guests with spectacular views of the canal, Military
Park, and the downtown Indianapolis skyline.

RAPP RECEPTION HALL
With striking views of downtown Indianapolis, the Rapp Reception Hall’s location in the heart of the
museum makes it a beautiful setting for an event. Your guests will enjoy visiting the NiSource Gallery
(pending exhibit availability) and peering into the museum’s permanent exhibitions located below.
Please Note: Candles are not allowed in this space; only LED lights. Due to our bicentennial celebration,
events in 2016 will have a decreased capacity for this event space.

The Farmers Market Café and Terrace is a wonderful contemporary space for an intimate dinner.
The adjacent terrace offers a beautiful view of downtown Indianapolis, and is the perfect location for
cocktail hour before moving indoors for dinner and dancing.
