Have you seen the goings on next to Tee It Up? Pretty soon you can enjoy Miller’s Ale House
right here in Oviedo. The other great thing that’s coming to Oviedo is Panera Bread. It’ll be
conveniently located on Mitchell Hammock adjacent to the LA Fitness.
How about the new Community Center that’s in the works? Most of you have heard the City
purchased the old post office facility recently, but did you know it will be renovated to become
a fantastic new gathering place within the Historic Downtown area, much like the proposed
Center Lake Park in Oviedo on the Park? More information to come as the plans unfold. The
City will hold a worksession on April 30, 2012 at 6:00pm to discuss the Community Center renovation and subsequent uses.
New location for Utility Billing and Customer Service. In case you haven’t been to City Hall
in a while, the Utility Billing and Payment Center is now located in the Annex building, adjacent to City Hall. The new Billing and Payment center is a one stop location to make all your
payments for City services including building permit fees and fees charged by the Police Department. If you are setting up new utility services for a residential or commercial account
come to the new Payment Center.
Is there a Garage Sale in your future? You’ll need to stop by Development Services and fill
out a Special Event Permit/Temporary Signage application for your signs. You may put up 1
sign on your property and 2 signs offsite. For more information call 407-971-5781.

Safety, It’s everybody’s responsibility!
Did you know: the vast majority, an estimated 90%, of thefts from vehicles are due to unlocked
doors and valuables left inside the vehicle in plain view?
Criminals like an easy target and they especially like your electronic gadgets and your personal
information. If you leave your car doors unlocked and your valuables in plain sight, you may be
their next victim.
A few tips to help you keep your things: lock the car doors, put your gadgets and valuables in the
trunk or out of sight before you go to the fitness center, shopping or the park. Call the police if
you see something suspicious. The emergency numbers are: 911 and 407-971-5700 for those
non-emergencies.
Together we can keep Oviedo a safe place to live, raise a family, work and play!

Page 3 Volume 7, Issue 1 A Moment with the City Manager
Dear Citizens,
First, I want to say thank you to each and everyone for giving me the opportunity to manage this wonderful city. It has
been a whirlwind of activity since my swearing in. For the first several weeks I visited each department and toured all of
our facilities to meet the employees who work so hard for this City. I believe in getting to know people and doing business
face to face when possible.
First and foremost, citizens and employees alike can expect an open and welcoming approach and uncompromised ethics
and integrity. With this as the foundation, they can expect I will always be focused on providing the most efficient and
effective services for the citizens in order to achieve the goals of the City Council. I look forward to astounding the citizens with excellent customer service throughout the organization and making them proud of their government and the services we provide.
I have several areas of improvement we will be focusing on. Strategic Planning, Team Work, Communications, Economic
Development and Customer Service. Our citizens are our customers and I look forward to exemplifying that. Each of
these areas is critically important to improving productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness both internally, within the organization, and externally throughout the community.
We are working to restart the development of Oviedo on the Park, and to revitalize parts of the old downtown with a community center project in the old post office building. There have been new businesses inquiring about locating here and
soon Miller’s Ale House will open for your enjoyment. Panera Bread purchased property in the city and plans to build on
a site just outside of the Oviedo on the Park property.
Again, I want to thank all of the citizens of Oviedo for giving me the opportunity to live, work and play in one of the best
towns in America. I look forward to meeting many more of you in the coming weeks and months as we discover that:
“Yes, we can, it’s our Oviedo!”
Warm regards,
Kathryn Breazeale, City Manager
and inline skating, just to mention a few.
