TimberTEK kiteboard construction.
TimberTEK has proven to be extremely durable in our standard surfboard construction but also quite light, giving the board a uniquely
responsive and lively feel. The Firewire kite crew was very intrigued by
this and put the build through its paces to see if it would endure the
extra abuse of kiting. With some minor modifications we are excited
to bring our TimberTEK kite construction to the 2015 kiteboard strapless lineup! This offers our customers an extremely durable, very light
and amazing looking high performance board that will turn heads in
the surf and on the beach.
More Models, More Choices!
For 2015 we have also added a whole new lineup of strapless only
“Pure Surf” models to choose from in addition to our traditional kiteboards with inserts. These boards are designed for advanced riders,
cross over paddle surf/kite boarders or people looking to get into
strapless riding. We also increased the number of sizes with boards
ranging from 5’0” to 6’1” to accommodate more rider sizes and skill
levels. See following pages.

Firewire Technology
Future Shapes Technology (FST) relies primarily
on the PARABOLIC Balsa Rail to control flex while
the high density aerospace composite vacuumed
to both top and bottom decks provides significant
impact strength, and is stronger than the traditional
PU surfboard. The 1lb interior core holds the shape
and provides flotation, allowing the board to seamlessly follow the flex characteristics of the Parabolic
rails coupled with the deck skins.

The Parabolic Balsa Rail features 12mm balsa built
from 3 x 4mm strips, which as mentioned not only
control flex and add strength, but also act as a buffer against rail dings. Furthermore, the long-term
flex memory supplied by the balsa rails ensures
boards maintain their lively feel for longer. In addition, we’ve worked closely with Felix Pivec to reinforce both the top deck lamination and the internal
sandwich construction to handle the added compression of kitesurfing. We feel we’ve achieved the
right balance between flex, weight and durability.
TIMBERTEK represents a significant step forward
towards the holy grail of any product designed and
manufactured in today’s environmentally conscious
world. While by no means sustainably built, Firewire’s TIMBERTEK has by far one of the least toxic
and smallest carbon footprints of any commercially
available surfboard today.
The combination of a lightweight EPS core, sustainably-grown wood deck skins, Firewire’s proprietary
parabolic rail construction, and Entropy bio-resin
throughout, yields an extremely lightweight, durable kiteboard with ALL of the high performance flex
characteristics of Firewire’s existing technologies.
Or as we like to describe TIMBERTEK, it’s simply

The Vader Modern Planing Hull (MPH) is the continued evolution of
the MPH. Over five years in the making, this next rung in the MPH
ladder is everything you could want a board to be. The Vader will give
you all of the planning and performance of the Vanguard but offers
even tighter turns in the pocket is blazing fast and has a skate feel
with directional drive. A completely asymmetrical design allows for
easy access to airs and further reduces the rail line minimizes drag
and increases lift.
The Vader comes in a 5/4/3 configuration allowing you options in fin
setups. Unlike most boards that favor one fin setup or the other, the
Vader truly rides equally as well as a quad or a tri fin. With the parallel rail line the Vader can be ridden much smaller than your traditional
board and if you currently have a Vanguard go 1-2 inches smaller than
that. Ride the pinnacle in state of the art wave craft and experience a
feeling that only the Vader will deliver!

The Vanguard or Modern Planing Hull (MPH) represents a radical change in the approach to high performance surfboard design and the Vanguard model is the result
of precise mathematical formulas and geometry. The hydrodynamic architecture of
the Vanguard opens the door to a fresh approach to board design and the art of riding waves. Inspired by the incredible feats of athleticism exhibited by today’s top professional surfers, Tomo (Daniel Thomson) has created a design that further helps 21st
century surfers expand their abilities. Higher degrees of speed, electric wave attack and
radical aerial potential are all possible with this highly tuned machine.
The rider will experience exceptional freedom and planing speed right form the get go.
The very short nature of the design allows the rider to completely dominate the board.
The straightened rail line will allow for effortless and precise turns and direct transitions.
This board is intended as a high performance machine but lends itself well to new strapless riders as well. The Vanguard is offered in our Future Shapes Technology build and
comes in a 5/4/3 fin configuration providing you options for changing wind conditions.
We have also included a smaller 5’0” nicknamed “The Smuggler” which fits nicely into a
standard golf deceiver bag to save you baggage fees on your next kite trip. Put this next

The HELL RAZOR is the ultimate high performance Hybrid
replacing your normal short
board (ride it approx. 1” shorter). The HELL RAZOR is morphed up from the HELLFIRE
and retains its high performance
characteristics. We flattened
the double concaves slightly and the overall foil is more
refined, with a slightly narrower
nose and tail, but with plenty of width to make sure you
don’t get hung up while riding.
While it’s virtually impossible to
design a single board that will
handle every type of condition,
the HELL RAZOR comes ‘razor’
close. Ride it with straps in FST
or strapless in TimberTEK. The

The Hellfire is a “contemporary Hybrid” blending the best characteristics of our pure hybrid shapes with our high performance
models. With low entry rocker and deep double concave this board
will get up and plane quickly but still carve tight pocket turns and
allow for responsive rail to rail transitions. An exceptional all around
board and one of most popular models, we offer the Hellfire in
two sizes, a 5’8” for larger riders and a 5’6” for smaller riders. The
boards come in a 5/4/3 fin configuration providing you options for
changing wind conditions.
