Biz Bash Arizona turns 10 this year! As the signature community fundraising event for CoBiz Financial, Biz Bash puts the
FUN into FUNdraising year after year. An exciting concert fundraiser, Biz Bash is a cool, fun, hip night on the town. And
even better – it’s all for a great cause – to give back to our community. About 750 guests enjoy a delicious meal, hosted
bar and an opportunity to bid on packages in the high-end silent auction. Biz Bash has featured past entertainers, The Gin
Blossoms, AMERICA, Lou Gramm, Starship, Eddie Money and WAR, becoming a must-attend event that provides sponsors
and guests the opportunity to mingle, host guests and enjoy a high-energy concert.
Since its 2001 inception in Colorado, Biz Bash has distributed more than $4.5 million to local not-for-profits in Arizona
and Colorado. Proceeds from the one-night event are distributed to two pre-selected nonprofit organizations serving
children and families at-need and/or at-risk. Since 2007, the Arizona Biz Bash has supported six nonprofit organizations,
including Raising Special Kids, Hope Kids, Ryan House, Chrysalis and ICAN and Child Crisis Arizona.
BENEFICIARIES
A New Leaf (2016-17): Phoenix-based nonprofit, A New Leaf, serves more than 17,500 homeless
individuals each year. They provide a broad spectrum of support services to help individuals and
families succeed. From basic needs to career development to budgeting, ANL focuses on providing
the critical skills to achieve lifelong independence. Funds from Biz Bash will be used to provide
children's services at their La Mesita shelter ensuring homeless and low-income, at-risk children have access to
academically and socially enriching activities. This will include experiential learning opportunities, tutoring, mentoring, and
social activities engage children and give them confidence personal knowledge about their world. TurnANewLeaf.org
Child Crisis Arizona (2015-16): Since becoming Child Crisis Arizona in 2015, the merger between Crisis
Nursery, Inc. and Child Crisis Center brought together two stellar organizations in the Valley for a
combined 71 years of history serving Arizona’s most vulnerable children from abuse and neglect. They
offer emergency children’s shelter care; prevention and education services and programs; and foster care
and adoption services. With a vision of a community where children and families have the support and opportunities they
need to thrive, they strengthen families by providing a safe environment for children to learn and heal. ChildCrisis.org
ENTERTAINMENT – AARON NEVILLE
R&B great Aaron Neville will play the 10th annual Biz Bash with his
energetic Creole and Cajun influenced soul. Neville has had four Platinumcertified albums and four Top 10 hits, including three Number Ones. He will
be joined by a talented, diverse R&B, funk, jazz and be-bop quintet that also
features, his brother, Charles Neville, saxophone player extraordinaire. A New
Orleans native, Neville has branded his musical tenure as an influential
American R&B singer and musician, who originally began his career with his
brothers Art, Charles and Cyril – known as The Neville Brothers.
With a career spanning 50-plus years, Neville's first major hit single was "Tell It Like It Is," released on a small New Orleans
label that topped Billboard's R&B chart for five weeks in 1967 and also reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
