The History
..... living in a dream.....
On the top of Frascati hills and surrounded by the green of its 2 hectars
Park, the Villa was built in 1564 by the Cardinal Rufini on the ruins of Marco
Tullio Cicerone’s ancient dwelling.
Through the centuries the Villa belonged to Roman noble families, among
the most famous ones, and in the 18th century was enriched by the
architect Luigi Vanvitelli, famous in the world for its work at Royal Palace of
Caserta.
Today Villa Tuscolana is a four stars Hotel and Congress Center, where the
“grandeurs” of the past is living together with modern comfort, plenty of
natural spots, making possible a new charming interpretation of Meetings,
Conferences, Team Buildings and any other kind of Events.

Grand Hotel Villa Tuscolana has got 100 rooms, including suites; from all the front rooms and from the
Sala Belvedere (situated on the top of the Villa) it is possible to enjoy one of the most impressive view of Rome,
with St. Peter’s “cupolone” (dome) on the back. The rooms, old-style furnished, with all comforts including WIFI free
connection, give a touch of charm that makes unique the stay at Villa Tuscolana.
Our Restaurant, “La Rufinella”, is renowned for its delicate cuisine, offering a wide choice
of Regional, Italian and International food served a la carte or at the buffet.

Sala Borbone (165 sq.mt.) has all the modern conference quipment and offers a really charming scenario: stately
chandeliers uncoil from the high ceiling (11 mt.) lighting the frescos on the walls, the pavement with the simmetric
trompe l’oeil and the red draperies. The atmosphere is magnified by a secret garden (directly accessible from the
conference room), where an amazing view and the waterworks of a fountain of the 17th century will make the
experience unique.

3 brighty breakout rooms (about 25 sq.mt. each) in the heart of Villa Tuscolana. Located in the “imposing façade” (by
Vanvitelli), they are naturally lighted and enjoy a relaxing view of the italian gardens of the Villa; ideal for work of small
groups from 15 to 25 persons.
All conference rooms and breakout rooms at Villa Tuscolana are
equipped with projection screen, flip chart, amplification with fixed
microphones for the speakers (for minimum 50 guests), folders,
blocknotes and pens, mineral waters and candies.
Other equipments (such as projectors, TV screens, monitors, WIFI, etc.)
are available on request.

Location
In the middle of the Colline Romane area, the Grand Hotel Villa Tuscolana may be easily reached through any of the main link roads, due to its strategic
position so close to the centre of Rome (only 24 km. from via Veneto).
Arriving by train
The whole area is served by railway web; in particular, there is a train every hour
connecting Frascati Railway Station to Roma Termini Central Railway Station
(and viceversa) in about 20 minutes. The trains are calling also Ciampino Railway
Station. Individuals and Group car/bus transfers from/to Roma Termini are
available; free shuttle bus to and from Frascati Railway Station available on
request.
Arriving by plane
Villa Tuscolana is 8km far from Ciampino Airport (CIA) and 38km from Leonardo
Da Vinci Fiumicino Airport (FCO). Individuals and Group car/bus transfers
available. Using public transportation: a train - Leonardo Express – is constantly
running from Fiumicino Airport to Roma Termini Central Railway Station and
viceversa; from Ciampino Airport it is possible to go to Ciampino Railway Station
(about 3,5 km. distance). From Roma Termini or from Ciampino it is possible to
reach Frascati by train (as above described).
Arriving by Car
To reach Villa Tuscolana from the centre of Rome or from G.R.A. (Grande
Raccordo Anulare – the Ring Road around Rome) there are various options: driving
along Appia, Anagnina and Tuscolana roads or, the easiest and fastest way, from
G.R.A. exit 21/22, follow the Highway A1 for about 5 minutes to the exit Monte
Porzio Catone that is just 3 km far from Grand Hotel Villa Tuscolana.
Arriving by Subway/Bus
Anagnina Subway Station (line A) is about 10km. far from Frascati; CO.TRA.L. public buses run constantly from Anagnina to Frascati and viceversa.
