Welcome to #HEXAPPEAL Fresh Island Festival 2016. We’ve put together this pack with all the details you
will need to have a fun and safe festival.
If you’re looking for information about travel across the island, where to go for boat parties, accommodation
or what currency to bring to Fresh Island, all the info should be here.
We will have an info point at Zrce Beach (tents on the beach) so if you have any questions at all, please just
ask a member of staff.

PLEASE NOTE
- Clubs at Venue and VIP areas are organized on “first come – first served basis”. All clubs at
Venue have limited capacity and access to particular club is subject to the capacity of that club.
- In case of overcrowded clubs there is no entry guaranteed to particular club at all times.
- The total number of issued tickets for The Festival is equivalent to the capacity of all clubs and
there will always be available capacity in some of the clubs or VIP areas within The Festival, in
addition for the Big Beach Takeover with Chris Brown the festival site on the beach will have
suitable capacity for all attendees.
- We recommend that you reach the Venue entrance at least one hour before start of the Event.

BIG BEACH TAKEOVER WITH CHRIS BROWN IMPORTANT INFO
Last day’s big concert will be held on the specially built big stage, on Zrce beach outside of the clubs. On
that day, all daily Pool Parties in clubs on the Zrce Beach will be finished at 7:30pm. All guests will need to
go out from Zrce Beach because all the area will be closed for the Big Beach Takeover Event.
Doors will be open from 9PM.
End of Big Beach Takeover special event will be at 2am, and after parties will be held in all clubs on Zrce
Beach included Kalypso, Aqaurius, Papaya and Noa club.
We strongly suggest to come to the Zrce Beach from the Opening Time, 9pm to avoid the jam in traffic
and the entrance.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Guests will not be able to enter at public shuttle bus transport, neither to taxi if they don’t
have their Festival or Chris Brown wristband/ticket. There will be check in before entering
into shuttle busses and taxi.

THERE WILL BE 2 ENTERANCES TO THE BIG BEACH TAKEOVER ON ZRCE BEACH SO FOLLOW THE
INSTRUCTIONS:
- If you are coming with a shuttle bus or taxi you will be entering on the main road to the Zrce Beach
- If you are coming with a car we are suggestion you to leave the car in the city or on the big parking place
near the Main Bus Station, then catch the public shuttle bus or taxi
- If you are with a car, the nearest way to come to the Zrce beach will be parking on Noa beach (Note:
Parking is limited so the rule will be “first come first serve”). You will have enter to the Zrce Beach between
Noa and Papaya Clubs near the sea cost.
Arrival to the Zrće parking will not be possible as the road will be closed so we advise you to take festival
shuttle bus from the Novalja center or to park on one of the parking near the Novalja bus station or Noa
beach parking.
From the entrance you will have 3 check in stops before you enter to the Big Beach Takeover venue.

BOAT PARTIES
Tickets are scanned at Novalja harbour, not Zrce Beach.
BOAT PARTIES:
- 12.07. – 1pm and 5pm departure I 30 minutes before meeting time at Pier (across of Gaudino caffe)
- 13.07. – 5pm departure I 4:30pm meeting time at Pier (across of Gaudino cafe)
- 14.07. – 5pm departure I 4:30pm meeting time at Pier (across of Gaudino caffe)
Please note that these times are set so that you can board the boat safely in time for the departure time.
You are not able to bring any liquids on to the boat. You will be searched for alcohol before boarding.
IMPORTANT NOTE
No jumping in to the sea from the boat / pier. You will have your wristband taken off you
and you will not be allowed in to the festival.
POOL PARTIES
The pool parties will take place at Papaya, Aquarius and Kalypso each day from Tuesday – Thursday with the
full line-ups available in our programs or on the website. Here are some more details about what to expect:
1 - Pool parties run from 3:00pm – 8:00pm, except on 14th July when the party runs from 3:00pm – 7:00pm.
2 - Entry to all pool parties are free to ticket holders.
3 - We are expecting these parties to be busy so please get down early to guarantee entry.
4 - It is a party in a pool, and there’s a chance you might get wet, so please dress accordingly and look after
your valuables.
5 - Be careful with drinking in the sun for long periods and please drink plenty of water.

GETTING TO FRESH ISLAND
AIRPORTS IN CROATIA
The Island of Pag is located on the west coast of Croatia. It can be reached easily from a number of major
airports in both Croatia and surrounding countries like Slovenia, Italy and Hungary. The closest airport to Pag
is Zadar, which is an hour transfer to the Fresh Island site. Split is located 2 hours away from Pag, Zagreb 3
hours, Dubrovnik 5.5 hours.
AIRPORT & LOCAL TRANSFERS
We recommend to use our official Festival airport and local transfers.
AIRPORT TRANSFERS
- Shuttle transfer from the airports of Zadar and Split to Novalja, you can buy a ticket for a seat (for more info
and booking your tickets: airport transfers)
- Private transfer with our official partner CROATIA-TAXI.HR witch serve the following airports: Zadar, Split,
Zagreb, Rijeka, Pula; you can choose one of the different vehicle with driver just for you or you and your
friends. (for more info and reservation: private transfer)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please bring the e-ticket lead customer will have received via email 7 days before arrival. Please remember

If you booked Shuttle Transfer. If you booked Private Airport Transfer then please email [email protected]
or call +385 21 55 33 22 and they will be able to resend this for you.
The transfer duration depends on ferry schedules and stopovers.
In case of any delay Fresh Island Festival will not be held responsible for missed flights, trains, buses or any
other means of transport.
Please mind that our transfers departure on time, so make sure to be on the bus a few minutes before bus
departure. Your vehicle will wait for you in front arrivals. Vehicle will have sign „ Fresh island airport transfer“
and you need to show vaucher to the driver or our rep. If you have any difficulties, please inform your
transfer number.
The safety of our travellers is of the upmost importance to us therefore passengers are not permitted to
travel under the influence of alcohol and alcohol is not to be consumed on the transfers. It is not possible to
make amendments to airport transfers after 6th of July.

IF YOU’RE COMING BY CAR:
If you decide to come by the car, the best solution is to calculate your itinerary on www.viamichelin.com
or www.mappy.fr.
You need: a driving license, a green card (car insurance) and your car registration documents when
entering Croatia. The identification letters for Croatia on the international green card are HR.
Motorways are not free of charge and there are tolls.
The island of Pag is very long and if you are arriving from Zadar or Split, the best option is to cross the
Pag bridge after the Posedarje. If you are arriving from Zagreb or Rijeka you have the possibility to take
the ferry in Prizna, which will take you to Zigljen on the island of Pag (about 5km from Novalja). Ferries
operate every hour, during high-season even more often. The price of a one-way ticket for 2 persons
and a car is around 11€.
LOCAL ISLAND TRANSFERS
Festival shuttle bus goes from Center of Novalja, Gaj and Gajac to Zrce beach (Festival spot) every 10
min. (for more info and booking your tickets follow: festival shuttle bus). Festival shuttle bus wristbands
will be able to pick up from Check In or Fresh Island Info Point on the Zrce Beach. For everyone with
e-tickets you will just need to head to the Check In or Fresh Island Info Point on the Zrce Beach where
you’ll be given your wristbands allowing unlimited travel across the island for the duration of your
wristband. You will not be able to purchase these on the bus.
IMPORTANT NOTE: TRAVEL INSURANCE
Please don’t travel to the festival without travel insurance. Be safe, be covered.
ACCOMMODATION
CROATIA WAVE in cooperation with partners Papaya Travel, Sunturist and Collegium/Zrce Travel are
the official accommodation provider agencies for Fresh Island Festival. They offer everything from 2*
through to 4* apartments, located in all areas of the island of Pag, all of which are reasonably priced.

IF YOU’RE BOOKED THROUGH FRESH ISLAND, CROATIA WAVE, PAPAYA TRAVEL OR
COLLEGIUM/ZRCE TRAVEL:
CHECK IN
We will strive to make check in for your accommodation as easy as possible. You need to get a voucher with
all details and address of agency where you need to have check in. If you can’t find address of agency from
your voucher then easiest way is to come on main bus station in Novalja. There will be Croatia Wave staff
who will help you to come to the agency/check in. Here, you will be checked in, your security deposits taken
and you will be transported to your accommodation wherever you may be staying on the island.
Bring the following things with you:
1 - Accommodation or package e-ticket
2 - Passport photocopies of all guests staying in your accommodation (Important!)
3 - 20£, 30€ or 200kn security deposit for each guest (returnable at check out)
You’ll then be transported to your accommodation and checked in!
Check in time is from 3:00pm – 02:00am. Please note there will be no check in after 02:00am unless
previously arranged till 8th July! If you are arriving outside of these check in times please call Croatia Wave

Entering in the apartments will be possible from 3pm.
CHECK OUT will start from 7:00-10:00am.
IMPORTANT NOTE
If your check out are earlier (because of flights and transports) you need to inform Agency
Travel staff at least 1 day earlier.

IF YOU’VE BOOKED PRIVATELY OR ANY OTHER METHOD
We’d recommend confirming the exact check in method with the apartment owner before arriving in
Croatia. Ensure you have the following information:
1 - Contact details for the owner / agency
2 - A pre-arranged check in time and location 3) Full address of your accommodation with map printout

4 - Print out of your booking confirmation with any receipt for payment
5 - A method to reach your accommodation. The festival shuttle is driving directly Novalja city – Zrce
beach with a few stops.

WHERE CAN I GET A COPY OF THE SET TIMES FOR THE FESTIVAL / POOL PARTIES?
These will be available in our programmes available from the FRESH ISLAND INFO POINT at Papaya
Club on Zrce Beach or at the Wristband Exchange when you arrive.
WHAT IF I FEEL ILL / NEED MEDICAL ATTENTION?
There is a medical center next to Novalja bus central station (number is: 194) or see any member of
staff.
WHAT IF I LOSE MY WRISTBAND?
We are unable to replace any wristbands so please look after yours!
I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY ACCOMMODATION, WHO DO I TALK TO?
If there is anything wrong at all, then contact your accommodation provider as soon as you are
aware of any problem.
IS THERE WIFI AT THE FESTIVAL?
Look out for Wi-Fi signs around Novalja in their cafes and along the sea front.
WHO CAN I TALK TO ABOUT…?
There is an info point available on Zrce Beach (Papaya Club), so if you head there our staff will be
able to assist you with any queries.
HOW DO I GET TO THE AIRPORT FOR MY FLIGHT HOME?

CAN I GET CASH OUT AT THE FESTIVAL? WHAT ABOUT PAYING ON MY CARD?
There are numerous cash machines located in Novalja so get enough cash for the night, or store
some safely in your accommodation. As for paying on card, this is possible in some of the venues, so
the best thing is to ask.
I’VE LOST MY PHONE / WALLET / PASSPORT, WHAT DO I DO?
If you’ve lost something valuable such as a phone then be sure to report it to the local police as this
might be a requirement for your insurance and for all other items, be sure to cancel your cards or
speak to a member of staff on the info points/merch tent as we have lost property handed in all the
time. Clubs/Venues have also lost property insides of clubs/venues.
I’VE LOST MY FRIEND
One tip would be to decide on a meeting place should any of you lose each other throughout the
night, and then head there. Or else, the Fresh Island Festival go-ers are a friendly bunch; you’ll
probably make even more friends during your time with us!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
WEATHER
The average temperature during Fresh Island is around 25 ̊- 33 ̊C so please ensure you drink plenty of
fluids (not all alcohol), apply plenty of sunscreen, bring some sunglasses and perhaps even a hat to protect
you from the sun.
Evenings can get a bit cooler, and there’s always the possibility of rain so bring some other suitable clothes
should the weather not be quite as we hoped.
MONEY
You will only need Croatian Kuna for the festival and this is accepted in all shops, bars, restaurants and the
festival venues. There are cash machines and bureau de change offices in Novalja.
MEDICAL SERVICES
In case of emergency, please call 112. We recommend taking out travel insurance in advance of your trip.
Please note if you do require medical attention, all expenses must be paid immediately (which you will claim
back from your insurance company).
PERSONAL BELONGINGS
We’d recommend not bringing your iPad / laptop or anything too valuable with you, and keep things locked
away at all times just to be safe.
TIME ZONE
Time zone is CET. This is one hour ahead of the time in the UK.
COMMUNICATING
The official language is Croatian, but most people speak decent English.
SAFETY
Croatia is a safe, friendly and sundrenched country but please still keep an eye on your belongings at all
times and if possible see if your accommodation offers a safe or lockers.
