Quick Look-up White Pape
XKs Unlimited is well known for its world-class Jaguar parts catalogs. With six “books” that cover all models built since 1948, our catalogs total more than 1,700 pages and contain thousands of illustrations and diagrams. Bringing order to more than 25,000 part numbers was a challenge, so to keep things familiar, our web site is organized like our printed catalogs and the same steps are used to find a specific part: Select the relevant catalog (XK, E-Type, etc.), choose between the two major sections (the color accessory/ high performance section or the black-and-white replacement parts section), find the desired group of parts (cooling, front suspension, brakes, etc.) and then a specific page to locate an individual part. The next few pages and images will lead us through the ‘Quick Look-up’ method for finding parts. Step 1. Everything begins with the www.xks.com Home Page. Although there are several paths to buying parts, a fast path is to just click on the green Buy Parts button. See the yellow highlight ring in Figure 1. Navigation Tip: If you hover over the Buy Parts button, a drop-down menu will roll out the quick access links to the various shopping avenues. If you know the section you want, simply click that link to go directly to the section for that model Jaguar. Figure 1 XKs Unlimited • White Paper • Using the Quick Look-up Catalog Home Page 1 For our exercise we will look-up and order rear brake pads for an XK-150. First take a moment to read through all the features of the Shopping Home Page. Step 2. This page offers a lot of shopping options. Since we’re focused on the Quick Lookup let’s look at that menu. To find the brake pads we’re after, click on the link labeled XK-120, XK-140, XK-150 Parts. (If you hover over that category a twopart menu will slide out from there giving you the option to shop for Replacement Parts or High Performance Parts.) If you are familiar with our catalogs, you know we list Replacement Parts in the black-and-white section and the High Performance/Accessory Parts are in the color section.
