Introductions: Intro of clubs in attendance. Welcome NEW affiliates-Street Dreams & High Desert Cruisers. Guests: Ralph & Cheryl Renz/ Honor Flight Kern County— Servicing local Veterans of World War II, Korean and Vietnam to take them to Washington DC. Honor Flight pays for their flight. To help with their fundraising efforts this year, they got a Jeep/ Honor Flight Jeep that they will be selling tickets for to win this Jeep. Tickets are $50 each and this special Jeep will be given away Veteran’s Day at Wounded Heroes Day at the Kern County Fairgrounds. Also, 2015 is 75th anniversary of Jeep. BCCC Checkbook Balance: Checkbook balance is $34,339.30 as of 02/29/16. Correspondence: Dave Bryan/ ACCC is still looking for someone from our area to become an ACCC Rep. We were also contacted by Marcia Eyherabide who is looking for (5) 50s cars to be on display at St. Joseph’s Church Spring Festival on Sun., Apr. 24 from 2pm-5pm with lunch provided. If interested, contact her at 661/871-4247. And we were also contacted by Grimmway Farms and they are looking for cars from the 60s (VWs, Vans, Muscle Cars to display at their annual picnic on Sun., Apr. 10 at the Kern Co. Fairgrounds. Thanks to all that came out! --Thurs., Feb. 18—Super Cruise 20 Promo Media Night, Chuy’s on Rosedale, 5pm-7pm. Wow! 100150 cars came out for this under the lights! Tractors too. --Sat., Feb. 20—Tuner Tuesday Mash Up Meet, 2701 Auto Mall Dr., 4pm-8pm. --Mon., Feb. 22—Super Cruise 20 Goody Bag Stuffing (250 bags), Society (1819 Brundage), 6:30pm. --Sat., Feb. 27—Super Cruise 20, K.C. Fairgrounds, 8am-3pm, Gate 40, Budweiser Pavilion area. 425 entrants and we raised $30,000 which means that every entrant that participated raised $70 each!! --Thurs., Mar. 3—Chuy’s Thurs. Night Cruisin’/March Meet Kickoff, 6pm-8pm, Chuy’s on Rosedale Hwy., Golden Empire Mustangs hosting. --Sat., Mar. 12—KCRP Men Go Red For Women Car Show, had (42) cars. La Mina catered breakfast. Evil Knievel’s son, Robby was there (keynote speaker), cost was $50 and it was a good breakfast. Committee Reports --BCCC Website—no action. --Facebook—All events that we have flyers for 2016 are posted on BCCC Events. --Newsletter—Just mailed out Feb., 2016 issue. --Downtown Event—Tony Castiglione was not present at this meeting to report. --Super Cruise 2017 Discussion/ Update—It was just brought to our attention right before this meeting took place that the 2017 dates for the Central Valley Sportsmen, Boat & RV Show will be moved from the end of February to March 10-12. This conflicts with the dates set for the inaugural Streets of Bakersfield/Highway 99 event. Chris and Larry asked for discussion from everyone present at this meeting to decide what we will do for Super Cruise 2017. Debbie Launer made a motion to have the BCCC stay with the Central Valley Sportsmen, Boat & RV Show for Super Cruise 21 for Sat., Mar. 11, 2017, based on the same arrangement as we have had in the past. A vote was taken and all were in favor. Club Status: --Tehachapi Car Club: Last month had their first meeting for Tehachapi Car Show. Still have to limit number of entrants for show because they run out of space, so enter early! This is their first active year with the BCCC. --Vintage Ltd. Street Rods: Working on Kern Co. Museum. --Model A Ford Club: Getting ready for their Poppy Tour on Mar. 19. Meeting at Taco Bell on Weedpatch Hwy. Went to Goose Looney’s for St. Paddy’s Day. --Mopars of Bakersfield: Wildflower cruise with GE Mustangs. Went to Ewing’s on the Kern River, down the Canyon. Working on Car Show coming up. --59s: Securing vendors for their upcoming event. --Studebaker Drivers Club: May 14th is their annual Car Show, doing planning for that. --Bak. British Car Club: Event coming up on Apr. 23-24 with car show at Buttonwillow (Sunday). $10 to get in to track. All British cars get in FREE. Get to wander around in the pits. --Golden Empire Mustangs: Did cruise with Mopars. April 1 – Scavenger Hunt creating havoc for locals. Apr. 19 – cars on the track. --Local Motion: Working on upcoming car show. Limited to 160200 spots. Before this show, going to Laughlin for Forbidden Fantasy event. --OFCC of Wasco: June 4 is the date of their annual Car Show (Bobby Socks & Blue Jeans). Sept. 4 is the date for the annual Bill Brannon event in Buttonwillow. Check out Sun. nights on local NBC TV for health segment with Erin Briscoe interviewing Cindy on disease that Bill had. Laurie Hubbard/Ray Ballard, Operation Soulwinner: Dec. 10 is date for 2016 Operation Soulwinner Joy Ride and Lynn Hubbard Memorial Cruise. Honoree Award for Fred Evenson. They will also be giving awards in honor of other names. --Scikotics: This Sat. they will have an event at Bakersfield Camelot Park. Discount for wristbands, providing lunch. --Cadillac Kings: Salty’s on White Lane is where they meet. Growing every time. Up to (35) came for last one. Picture of car of the month. Plan to have a show on Sat., Nov. 12 to tie in with Veteran’s Day. They take over the entire complex and meet on the second Sat. of each month starting at 4pm. --Kern Co. Model T Ford Club: Gearing up for annual Swap Meet at the Kern Co. Fairgrounds (1936 and earlier). Sell out 500-600 spaces out there for this event. Second weekend in April. --Classic Chevys: Started Drive & Dine. 20 people went this last month. Ended up at Cindy’s (where Bill Ray wanted). Old Business: None New Business: --Nomination/election of (2) BCCC Spokesperson(s) for 201617 term. Debbie Launer nominated both Chris Addington and Larry “Lugnut” Thomas to remain in this position. Corey Kerley nominated himself. Hand vote was taken and Chris Addington & Larry Thomas received the majority of the votes. --Raffle and end of meeting. Meeting adjourned at 8pm.
