GREETINGS TO MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS!
I am very excited about this year’s District Council! There
are so many exciting things to look forward to when we
meet in May.
We have a great slate of speakers, as well as exciting and
informative workshops. In addition, we will be hosted by
our great friends at Calvary Church in Naperville.
Most of all, I am excited about the opportunity to gather
together with our Illinois District family.
Here are some highlights:
• Join us on Sunday evening for a pizza and pasta buffet at Calvary Church. It will be
held in honor of Judy and Dennis Pickrel. Dennis recently announced his retirement as
IDC’s Comptroller, effective June 1.
• John Bevere will speak on Monday night.
• Pastor Choco deJesus will speak at our Tuesday evening ordination service.
• Dr. Paul Alexander will bring a powerful word Tuesday afternoon.
• You’ll want to stick around for the closing session on Wednesday morning when
Dr. Gordon Anderson, who recently announced his retirement from North Central
University, will once again challenge and move us with true Pentecostal ministry.
No matter how great District Council is going to be this year, it won’t be all that it can be
unless you are there. Make plans today!

JOHN BEVERE, Monday night speaker
John and Lisa Bevere founded John Bevere Ministries in 1990 in Orlando,
Florida, driven by a mandate to see nations transformed by the power of
God’s Word. In 2001, the ministry moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado,
where it has grown internationally with offices in the United Kingdom
and Australia. John Bevere Ministries became Messenger International in
2004. In addition to their preaching and teaching ministry, the Beveres
have published more than 20 books, including The Bait of Satan,
Drawing Near and Driven by Eternity. John is an international speaker
and co-host of “the Messenger” TV program broadcast worldwide.
DR. PAUL ALEXANDER, Tuesday afternoon speaker
Dr. Paul Alexander has served as President of Trinity Bible College since
March 7, 2012. He has a vision to lead the college in becoming a place of
choice for students preparing for ministry, mission and the workplace.
Key elements of turning vision into reality have included a dynamic
Intercultural Studies program, Adult Degree Completion Program and
innovative Master’s program led by his wife, Dr. Carol Alexander. In
addition to serving as missionaries, the Alexanders have lived on four
continents and have led a variety of ministries and institutions, which
include pastoring churches in the UK, South Africa and Australia, as well
as leading institutions of higher learning in each place.
CHOCO DEJESUS, Ordination service speaker
Wilfredo “Choco” De Jesús serves as senior pastor of New Life Covenant
Church (NLC), one of the fastest-growing churches in Chicago. He was
appointed a General Presbyter at the 2015 General Council in Orlando.
Born and raised in Chicago’s tough Humboldt Park Community, his life
was transformed at age 14 when he was led to the Lord while working
a summer job at the church. He has been a member of the church ever
since and became senior pastor in 2000. Under his leadership, the
church has grown from 120 to 17,000 globally and has launched over 130
ministries targeting the city’s most disenfranchised residents. Countless
lives have been transformed and rehabilitated. Pastor Choco has authored two books,
Amazing Faith and In the Gap.
DR. GORDON ANDERSON, Wednesday morning speaker
Dr. Gordon Anderson has served as president of North Central University
since June 1995. Under his leadership, the University has achieved
record enrollment levels, significant business and operational gains
and consistent academic vision. He recently announced his impending
retirement (to become effective June 1, 2017). His rich experience
includes 14 years of pastoral leadership and over 35 years as a college
professor and administrator. He has authored numerous articles and
several books. Recognized as an authority on Pentecostal doctrine, his
preaching ministry has both challenged and encouraged Illinois ministers
at several District functions.
Meals
For the convenience of Council attendees, we are offering a meal package. All meals will
be served on the Calvary Church campus. The package includes the Sunday night pizza
and pasta buffet, Monday lunch and dinner, Tuesday lunch and Tuesday night’s ordination
reception.
MEAL PACKAGE COSTS
Adults (16+): $55 each
Youth (6-15): $27.50 each
Children (0-5): free with parents
Childcare
Childcare will be available only for parents attending Council sessions. Parents must
remain on the premises!
• Childcare will be available for toddlers (walkers) through age 4 during all Council
sessions.
• A fee of $5 per child per session is required, except during evening services. Meals
and childcare will be provided free only during the Monday evening banquet if
parents are purchasing these meals.
• Attendees’ children must be pre-registered (including for all free sessions) to help us
schedule an adequate number of caregivers.
• Mothers of infants may use childcare rooms as needed.
• Pre-registration is not required for children of guests attending the evening services.
