On behalf of the Board of Trustees (BOT) and the Executive Committee (EC) we extend our best wishes to you and your family and wish you a very happy, healthy and prosperous year in 2011. It was a memorable 2010 for our Temple as we completed 12 years. We have planned another exciting year of events in 2011 to cater to all age groups. The temple program schedule is posted at the temple, in this Jain Vani, and can be found on our web site. Please take a moment to review the schedule for 2011. We are always looking for sponsors and volunteers for the events. Board of Trustees Chairman Rajendra Modi (248)-626-6343 Vice Chairman Rajiv Maheshwari (248)-488-1332 Treasurer Nikhil Kothari (734)-397-1910 Public Relations Milap Shah (734)-455-5260 Trustees Milap Shah (734)-455-5260 Shailesh Jain (248) 489-8849 Deepak Jhaveri (248) 879-3011 Anand Bora (248) 661-6698 Jain Society of Greater Detroit The beginning of the year started with the Snatra Puja (1/1). We also had Meru Teras Puja on (1/30) followed by light lunch. This is the first time we had served all vegan food. About 120 people attended the Metruteras Puja. Our Pujari Shri Rajnibhai and Smt. Jyotsnaben had been to India for few weeks. Shri Champakbhai and Shri Praveenbhai from Chicago helped us during their absence. We appreciate their help and would like to thank them on behalf of the Jain Society. Last year we had “12 Hour Navkar Jaap” as it was difficult to have members participate in the 24 hour jaap. This year Jaap (7 Hours) is on Feb 27. Please sign up online or at the temple bulletin board at the earliest. We definitely want to continue this important religious event. Our 18th Annual Fund Raising Dinner is planned for March 19th. Please see more details in this Jainvani. We are looking forward to everyone’s presence at this event. Have you done RSVP yet? We would also like to thank all outgoing EC and BOT members for their dedicated service to JSGD and helping all of us during transition phase for the entirely new EC and new BOT members. www.jain-temple.org Page 1 of 16 Pujari Rajnibhai Shah (248)-865-0908 EC Sub-Committees Audio/Video Pravin Shah Saurabh Shah Bipin Shah The BOT and EC are working on near-term and long-term goals for the temple.
