Recycled Rubber Products -
Our recycled Rainbow Turf Products are manufactured with
100% commercial waste stream tire rubber. Our products
represent creative ways to make use of rubber tire waste,
a stream that is difficult to dispose of in a responsible and
environmentally safe manner. By using recycled rubber in the
production of our products, we manage to provide the lowest
environmental impact when producing our product line. The total
energy consumed in manufacturing Rainbow Turf Products is less
than half of the energy used when choosing and disposing of either
virgin rubber or synthetic source materials.
Sustainable recycled rubber products are simply more cost effective with
respect to production and purchase price. The United States alone generates over
260 million tires every year. Most are disposed of in our landfills and illegal dumpsites
which creates hazardous conditions for the environment and its inhabitants. Successful recycling is a two-fold

Rainbow Turf Products Rubber Walk Pour-In-Place is a 100%
recycled rubber safety surface that is made from 100% recycled
tire buffing. It is a custom design application of our Loose Fill
Rubber Mulch in a permanent polyurethane adhesive. Rubber
Walk Pour-In-Place contains anti-fatigue properties that help
put pep back in your step. It provides a more comfortable
walking surface by reducing aches and pains in your joints

Do-It-Yourself Rubber Mulching
Installing rubber mulch can be an easy task to do, especially when you have the right tools and materials. Remember
that before you begin, you must prepare the ground for the mulch to be safe for a playground or walkway.
Step 1 - Grade the Surface Area
Prepare the area where the rubber mulch will be installed to ensure
the safety of children. Grade over the surface of the installation area
with a rake.
Step 2 - Debris Removal and Digging
Remove all sticks, rocks and overall debris from the area where the
mulch will be placed. If the mulch will be installed in a recreation area
such as a playground, dig at least 6 inches.
Materials Needed:
* Pick
* Vinyl / Latex Gloves
* Shovel
* Bucket for mixing
* Hoe
* Adhesive Binder
* Rubber Mulch
* Landscaping Fabric (made out of cloth)
* Scissors or knife
Step 3 - Flatten Terrain
The hole area must be flat and have a drop of roughly 1 inch for every 10 feet in order to secure the flow of water.
For this, use a pick to soften the dirt, and use a shovel and a hoe to evenly distribute the dirt.
It is recommended that you also get a retaining wall to place around the perimeter of the playground. A 6 to 8 inch
rubber curbs is ideal for this purpose. The rubber mulch must come up to the level of these curbs, so that children
do not trip on them. This barrier will also protect against leakage of rainwater.
Step 4 - Prepare the Terrain
Whenever you need to create an elevation or a slope, it is recommended you add soil. To ensure consistency and
an even terrain, you must evenly distribute the rock and soil. It should be around 2 inches deep in all surface areas.
Whenever the mulch is part of a playground, make sure to make it 6 inches deep in order to add an extra cushion in
order to break children’s falls more easily. Walkways or running tracks do not need to be this deep. After the rocks
and the soil have been added, use the fabric to cover the surface area.
Step 5 - Lay Landscaping Fabric
Stretch a cloth landscaping fabric over the surface where the mulch will be applied. With the scissors or with the
knife, cut an X where there you will plant trees or other objects coming out of the ground.
Step 6 - Mix Adhesive and Rubber Mulch
Add correct amounts of adhesive binder and rubber mulch in a bucket.
Mix thoroughly and evenly coat the rubber mulch with binder.
Step 7 - Shovel Mulch
Shovel or hand place the rubber mulch to install it.
Step 8 - Smooth Terrain for Safety
Once the rubber mulch is installed, use a rake or a hoe
to make the mulch even to avoid trips or falls, and to
make the ground safer for children.
Step 9 - Allow Area to Cure
Allow area to cure for 48 hours before touching or
walking on surface.

recycled tire buffing. Loose Fill Rubber Mulch is ADA accessible. Recycled rubber mulch
contains properties that are low maintenance, safe, and attractive. Loose fill rubber mulch
is a surfacing alternative to wood mulch, engineered wood fiber, sand and pea gravel,
polyester, or steel that can be hazardous. These are usually found in most lower end versions

rubber tire buffing in a single density fabrication. The Swing Safe Mat is a perfectly sized
mat that accommodates an occupied swing pattern. Swing Safe Mats are recommended

Rainbow Turf Products J-Curb was designed for use in conjunction with the Rainbow Turf Pour-in-Place products.
The compacted aggregate will finish flush with the inside edge of the J-Curb. The Pour-in-Place will cover the
inside edge and roll down the keyway. This keyway allows the Pour-in-Place product to be held securely to the
border. It has 2” drainage outlets built into the curb to help drainage and be flexible enough to make various
curves, shapes, and bends. The J-Curb is the perfect solution for any Pour-In-Place surfacing containment.

Cushion Course (Base 6/16)
“SBR” Rubber (Styrene Butadiene Rubber) that
we offer are from some of the top retreads in the
industry. These materials are used for the cushion
base course in most all surfacing systems. The
material is 99.9% free from all foreign materials
such as metal, stones, and fabrics. Our shipments
are of consistent quality which is confirmed by
completing a sieve and moisture analysis multiple
times on each load. We use the finest equipment
on the market to ensure that our customers
receive the highest quality rubber buffings
achievable to fulfill their safety surfacing needs.
Our rubber buffings may be custom ordered in all
sizes ranging from 30 mesh minus to 5 plus . The
