Balls in the HP4™ line have the most aggressive hook potential, which decreases as you move down to the HP1™ line, giving you the least amount
of hook. The HP system makes getting started in the game and building a complete tournament arsenal effortless, so you can dominate on any lane

a weighted formula to account for several different measured variables of the weight block and/or core (Guts), the coverstock (Grit) and the
lane condition on which the ball achieves maximum performance (Grime). At a glance, you will have a better, quicker understanding of each
Roto Grip ball and how it compares to others in the Roto Grip family.

GUTS
We dissected the ball for a closer look at
the radius of gyration from a multitude of
positions (most measure only three), the
shape and direction of the Roto Grip planes
of this particular shape, the differential and
more. Higher numbers equate to a more
aggressive core or weight block shape,
which produces more total ball motion.

GRIT
We mastered the chemistry involved in
producing our wicked coverstocks. Two key
elements we measure are oil displacement and
pliability – plus we mixed up some amazing
color combos so our balls look smokin’ hot.
This number relates to the strength of the
coverstock, with higher values indicating
more aggressive shell materials.

GRIME
We assigned a letter to each ball indicating
the amount of lane conditioner it is designed
to handle. Heavy (H), Medium-Heavy (MH),
Medium (M), Medium-Light (ML) and Light
(L) oil conditions. Don’t forget that you can
adjust the surface or layout of any Roto Grip
ball so that it works across a variety of lane
conditions.
