OUR MISSION
The Shepherd’s Center of
Orange Park, SCOOP, is a
22-year old, interfaith, nonprofit organization for and by
adults over 55 to remain
involved and vital by
improving their quality of life
intellectually, physically,
socially and spiritually…
Living Life and Loving It!
************************************
About SCOOP
The Shepherd’s Center offers
“Adventures In Learning” –
classes that are taught
on various subjects by
knowledgeable volunteer
instructors. There are four
eight-week sessions per
year. See registration form
on Pg. 5 for fee. Lunch is
also available, along with an
entertaining luncheon
program.
Hope you can join us!
Celebrate Outstanding Senior Volunteers at 8th Annual Gala
You are invited to join the Shepherd’s Center of Orange Park (“SCOOP”) as
we celebrate our seniors for their outstanding volunteer service at our Gala
on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Club Continental on the beautiful St. Johns
River. Ken Amaro will be Master of Ceremonies. The Gala will include a
breakfast buffet, live auction and awards ceremonies. Those to be honored
will be the Shepherd’s Center Volunteer of the Year together with the Clay
County’s Senior Volunteer Man of the Year, Senior Volunteer Woman of the
Year and the Lifetime Achievement Award. Not only will the Gala be
recognizing outstanding volunteer service but also celebrating SCOOP’s
highlights and thanking our contributors. All seniors, as well as the general
public, are invited to this very festive occasion.
The Orange Park Woman’s Club is hosting the event with proceeds to
benefit Shepherd’s Center of Orange Park, Inc. which provides award
winning senior educational programming focused on health and wellness.
SCOOP keeps senior adults involved and vital to our community.
We are still joyfully serving our community after 22 years because of our
wonderful donors and volunteers. Your donation helps SCOOP to reach
more seniors because our registration fees are substantially reduced. Your
giving also brings learning, laughter and fun to almost 500 senior adults’ lives
annually. See Page 2 to purchase a ticket for this very inspirational event.

What the Shepherd’s Center Means to Me!
I am so thrilled with my art instructor, Susan Mills, and the Oil Painting class. There is nothing
like the joy she shows imparting her skill to someone else. It shows all over her face. I look
forward each week to what I will learn in class to enhance my skills and talent. I am so glad I
found the Shepherd’s Center!
