Together we can make a difference Network for organisations and individuals committed to one-world-issues in North Rhine-Westphalia since 1991. More than 3.000 One-WorldGroups in NRW are being registered. We are politically independant and nondenominational. 251 organisations and more than 1.370 individuals support our work and our projects as paying members, because … … together we can make a difference Our objectives Instigate the critcial reflection of global trends, developments and challenges Contribute to social, economical and ecological justice, also on a global scale, and to global solidarity Encourage and support voluntary committment for one-world issues Enhance One-World-Politics as an important task for politicians and civil society Improve the structural and financial framework for committment in NRW Implement global learning in formal and non-formal education … together we can make a difference A difficult task: Awareness Raising Raising awareness for one world issues is a difficult business. Thousands of advertising messages are frequently dropping down on all of us. Hence, there is a hard competition for people´s attention. Groups of volunteers have even more difficulties achieving it. That is why we offer attractive exhibitions and public campaigns. Two of our succesful forms of awareness raising Exhibitions Billboard Campaigns Our Billboard-Campaigning Billboards at railway stations In cooperation with the railway advertising company (Ströer Media, Cologne) we can use their billboards for free: - Period of ten days, often longer - together with donors Slogan here: „Farmers are no beggars!“ - Discover Fair Trade! Billboard-Campaigning: Some Details Preparation with Sponsoring Partner Service by Sponsoring Partner Finding Common Message Appr. 15.000 Euro für design, Design and Slogan print and hanging of 500 Billboards for each 10 days minimum Appr. 2.000 Euro Management Fee to Eine Welt Netz NRW Advantage: No billboard renting costs Period and amount Public Relations Additionals, i.e. Postcards, Sticker, Poster… Signing Contract Billboard Campaign 2013 The Message „Climate Change? No problem! We are all happy about a warmer summer!“ Stopp Climate Change – Use Eco-Electricity now! Partner „Naturstrom“: Electricity by Renewebles How it works The AIDA-principle Attention: paradox statement Interest: becoming aware of the everyday cynicism and the injustice of climate change Desire: acting for justice Action: changing to Electricity without CO2Emission (not donating) Some Responses of the campaigng Polarization of viewers Some could not find an answer to the paradoxon Very few new customers Some NGO-members did not like the advertising to Naturstrom Criticism of hidden racism no agreement with the shown person affirmation of stereotypes The Principle of Paradoxons in our exhibition „Entwicklungsland D“ („Development Country Germany“) Themes of the exhibition „Entwicklungsland D“ „We bought a second car. My wife needs it for shopping and for the kids.“ Joseph Kabui, New Guinea Our mobility is fossil. The Maldive Islands are sinking due to the greenhouse effect. They have to carry the can for us. Rethinking is good. Acting is needed. Download them all here as pdf: http://www.eine-welt-netz-nrw.de/seiten/262/ „I put the old DVD-player to the bulky waste. Repairing would be more expensive than a new one.“ Muana Kombo, Tanzania One German produces 450 kg waste every year. If the whole world did so, we would need a second planet as a waste dump. We should change our waste-concept. „My products are manufactured in Germany. There, they work night and day. And they are very cheep!“ Ahmed Latif, Pakistan We like to buy cheep. But child work, sweating and slavery are not acceptable. Fair salaries and just working conditions worldwide are protecting our own jobs as well.
