Fact sheet Nes-Noord
Fact sheet Nes-Noord
Location map of the Nes-Noord gas field
General information
The Nes-Noord gas field is situated ca. 3 km west of the Oost-Ameland gas field. It was
discovered in 1970 with exploration well Nes-Noord-01. The gas is trapped in the Upper
Slochteren Member (ROSLU). The field has not been developed and currently lies in the
Noord-Friesland concession of NAM.
For general information on the geology of the Nes-Noord area reference is made to the
Geological Atlas of the Netherlands, map sheets I Vlieland-Terschelling and II AmelandLeeuwarden, in which the geological history of the area is explained.
